I didn't make real resolutions this year...I kind of like how I did things last year with my "six loose goals". I like keeping things low pressure. Of course, I still have some goals in mind for the new year! You might roll your eyes at them...
Make my health a bigger priority
Finish paying off our debt
Be the best version of myself I can be
....yadda yadda yadda, right? ;) wrong. I don't believe new years resolutions can be tacky and cliche... I think its awesome to see so many people get a fresh, clean slate and want to better themselves! The only problem with that is usually consistency! So this year, I want to make sure to simply wake up more to exercise, make more time for things I love (friends, manicures, crafts, sleep, reading, etc.), spend less money, and just try to be a better person overall.
We rang in the new year with our best friends doing nothing other than catching up, playing funny board games and watching the ball drop. We were all beat and fell asleep promptly after midnight, but it was the perfect way to spend the new year. We don't need a fancy party to have fun, just some good company!
On New Years Day we decided to use some money we had set aside on a bike/elliptical! We spent pretty much all day out picking those up, putting them together, doing a big trip of healthy groceries and being productive so we didn't have time to work out...so the first thing on Saturday's agenda was a difficult workout!
Saturday was also our first wedding of 2016!!! I can't believe it. We had so much fun, this couple was hilarious and clearly love each other to pieces!
When I got home, I was beat from my sore muscles, so we crashed after watching Star Wars... and you know I'm loving these new comfy slippers my girl Lyndsie got me!
Sunday was full of volunteering at church, another Bengals win (WHODEY!!!???!!), and youth group with the teens that evening. I hope you all had a great time ringing in the New Year! Lets do this, 2016!!!
Do you have any goals this New Year?
Happy New Year, Kayla! The love and friendship you have with Erin and Jared is just too awesome. It's beautiful to see you all so close.ReplyDelete
Happy 2016 to you! I love the wedding pics. I got married in March and wore fur shawl too, so fun! That's awesome that you got some exercise equipment! That's on my wish list right now too!ReplyDelete
What a great way to ring in the new year! We kept it very low key too and it was perfectly fine with us! WOO HOO for new workout equipment! So exciting!! :) The pictures from the wedding look so good. Love the last wedding picture, I'm sure she'll always treasure that one!ReplyDelete
Happy 2016! :)
So how many weddings have been planned so far? Its going to post up in a day or two but too bad you aren't in the STL area to shoot weddings ;)ReplyDelete
Happy New Year! Sounds like the perfect way to ring it in, and the wedding photos are gorgeous! I'm with you, instead of resolutions I just prefer goals. Health is big on my list too!ReplyDelete
New year brings exciting new things and we have something VERY exciting to share with you!ReplyDelete
Those slippers look so comfy! And your NYE sounds like perfection, I'm hoping to have a low key one next year for sure. Happy New Year <3ReplyDelete
So I'm just now realizing how fat my face looks in our selfie haha- DANGIT! ;) Happy 2016 and cheers to all it will bring you!!!ReplyDelete
low key NYEs are the best, aren't they? i'm a tad jealous of the elliptical purchase. i'm dying for a larger space so i can get some larger exercise pieces and forego the gym membership!ReplyDelete
oh yay, congrats on the bike and elliptical, that is so exciting! and your NYE sounds perfect :)ReplyDelete
happy new year to you guys. This year I definitely want to make my relationship w God better...not by just going to services every week but actually diving into my bible and reading it dailyReplyDelete
I sure do have goals for 2016. And I agree with you so so much that it's awesome to see people take the start of a new year as a fresh clean slate and want to better themselves! And I hope each and everyone of those people (us included) can find it within themselves to stick with it and accomplish everything they want to this year.ReplyDelete
