Weekend well spent!

Friday, Caleb and I photographed a wedding for an old friend of mine! I met Abi in middle school and I remember her just being the sweetest girl! It was so fun reconnecting with her again throughout the time of her engagement. She and Alex had the most gorgeous day (even with a torrential downpour midday). and I'm obsessed with each and every image we captured for them!

Saturday I finally got my hair done! I always feel so much more like myself after a trip to the salon! My hair needed some serious TLC!! Once I got home, Caleb and I decided to run a few errands and grab some lunch together!

We spent the rest of our evening being adults (aka doing laundry and grilling out).

Sunday was a jam-packed, but awesome day! We had an early morning meeting with a bride and groom of ours, then we celebrated my nephews 1st birthday party!! I don't want to spoil it, so I'll let Erin share the photos, but it was amazing. We are so in love with our nephew, Tyler, and can't wait to continue watching him grow up!

We ended our day with youth group and prepped for the week! This is our last week before vacation and we are SO EXCITED!! I can hardly stand it.

Hope you had a great weekend!

Weekending!

Friday night was full of last minute Chipotle with our best friends, board games, and impromptu muffin making (okay, Erin did all the work, but I was there to cheer her on and taste test the deliciousness)!

Saturday we had another wedding and it. was. gorgeous! I was worried with all the rain reports, but it turned out to be a perfect day! They had no bridal party, and the whole guest count was under 100, so the day was very stress free and go-with-the-flow! The entire day (other than going Downtown for portraits) was on the Groom's parents home property overlooking the Kentucky hills.

They had a portable brick oven come to make pizzas, had great music to dance to all night, and ended their evening with fireworks! It was awesome. We got home around 10 and I'm happy to report I kept myself well fed/hydrated all day and NO headaches! Woo!

Sunday was busier than usual but my Aunt was back in town (she and my uncle/cousins just moved to Tennessee) so we grabbed lunch after church and it was great spending time with her and my cousins, and the rest of my family! We ran some errands and then ended our evening with youth group!

Hope you had a fun weekend. Do anything fun!?

The rest of our weekend!

I was so excited to post about how relaxing our Easter was that I totally forgot to post about the rest of our weekend!

Last Friday my mother in law decided to have a spontaneous "Good Friday" dinner so we headed over there for a delicious steak/veggie dinner on the patio (which was amazing because Caleb cannot stand eating outside but it was basically 7 to 1 sooo we won), then we hung out around their fire pit and made s'mores. It was the perfect start to the weekend!

Saturday, we had our 6th wedding of the year! I had really been looking forward to this wedding because the Bride was such a genuine SWEETHEART! She and her fiance had been together for a long time, both had children, and she just wanted the focus of the day to be about their love. Nothing too frilly/outlandish - she just really wanted to be married to her man! Their ceremony was beautiful, and their reception was a blast! SO! MUCH! DANCING! I can't wait to show you guys more!

We put our cameras down when we were done but instead of leaving, we decided to stay hit the dance floor - which is basically our favorite part of the wedding day ;)

We're so lucky to meet so many awesome couples and document their stories!

Sunshine for days!

This weekend was fantastic! Other than Friday, it didn't have much structure and that's the way I like it. Friday, Caleb and I photographed a sweet family members intimate, courthouse wedding in Kentucky. Natalie is one of Caleb's many many cousins, and I'm so lucky to call her a friend, too! She's seriously beautiful, inside and out, and we were SO thankful to be part of their big day! I'm really thankful we snagged a few photos with them, too! ;)

Their ceremony took place in the cutest little town, on the stairs of the old courthouse. It was short and sweet, but their love for each other was so obvious.

I MEAN. COME ON NATALIE! GORGEOUS!

Saturday morning I photographed an Easter event that my church put on! We had over 1,000 preK-5th graders sign up for our "Chopper Drop" aka... thousands of candy filled Easter eggs being dropped from a helicopter!

We grabbed lunch with my SIL/BIL, then spent the remainder of the day being insanely productive around the house. We got rid of two huge bags of clothes to donate, made a huge dent in our never-ending laundry pile, and cleaned up the guest room a bit. We enjoyed a late dinner, and finally relaxed around 10PM.

Sunday after church, some of the youth group students stayed after to help assemble Easter egg baskets for 78 kids who are receiving life-saving treatment at Children's Hospital. We partnered with the Ronald McDonald house so their parents would have one less thing to worry about while they are staying in town. Because the only thing they should have to worry about is being there for their kiddos! We even got a quick tour of the facilities and it was really cool to see how well they love on these families while they are going through a difficult time.

Caleb and I spent the remainder of our day doing more laundry and relaxing...isn't that what Sunday's are for? I hope you all enjoyed yourselves and had a great weekend as well!

Our weekend!

Hi, friends! Thanks for all your well wishes last week. His Grandmother's funeral was beautiful, and it was nice to hear so many wonderful stories about her over the years. She was one special lady! Please keep Caleb and his family in your thoughts and prayers as everyone goes back to reality today and tries to continue moving forward :)

Thursday evening I started to feel a little tickle in my throat, but nothing too terrible, so I just shook it off and thought it was nothing. Turns out I felt TERRIBLE when I woke up on Friday, but I trekked into work anyway. My boss took one quick look at me and sent me home. It was definitely for the best, since we had a wedding to photograph on Saturday and I needed to rest up and get better!

I'll be honest, since I was so sick, I didn't feel like being anywhere but my bed all day with some hot tea and  a serious amount of cough drops! But once we arrived at the hotel on Saturday to start photographing, we had a great day with everyone. Bright (yes, coolest name ever) was such a stunning bride, she seriously was so chill the whole day; nothing could stress her out! She and Evan were so obviously in love -- it's always easy to capture people like them!

Thank goodness for Caleb. I couldn't raise my voice for this crowd to save my life (as far as directing full bridal party shots/etc.), so he was definitely a life saver all day! He always is. I really can't imaging photographing with anyone but him. He just gets me, and knows exactly what I need!

Sunday was pretty relaxing. We had a consultation in the morning, and I was able to score a bowl of my favorite soup (broccoli cheddar from Panera - woo woo)! We didn't have youth group that evening so we watched an unhealthy amount of Netflix and became couch potatoes while the rain kept on outside, and I didn't hate one minute of it.

Have a great week, friends!

Another fun, but busy weekend!

Friday evening we had no real plans, but we wanted to drop something off at Erin & Jared's house quickly! So we stopped by, then they asked us to stay for dinner (so sweet!) which turned into a full blown game night! We loved it and had such a blast!

Saturday morning Caleb and I got ready for a wedding we had been really excited for! It was in Lawrenceburg, IN (which was surprisingly less than an hour drive), and Libby, the bride, was a sister of one of our previous brides. She said that choosing us to photograph her wedding was a no-brainer, and we couldn't have been more excited!!

It was COLD outside - but these ladies were troopers!!!

That adorable couple on the right is Katie and Seth, and we photographed their wedding a few years ago! Libby, the bride, is Katie's younger sister. I was beyond excited when I found out Katie & Seth welcomed a sweet baby boy into the world just 6 little weeks ago! How precious is he??!! My heart was honestly so happy all day! This family is the sweetest! Caleb and I get so much more from wedding days when the families are so accommodating and friendly all day. They made us feel like part of the day, not just "hired help" :) we're so grateful!

Sunday, after church, I did some serious grocery shopping and did some meal prepping. I pre made taco salad for lunches and tonight plan on pre-making more meals so we can stay on track throughout the week! We've slipped up a bit the last couple weeks, not doing terribly, but that always seems to happen when we're working a lot. I'm remembering to give ourselves some grace and just try harder the next week!

Hope everyone has a good Monday! Make it a great one!
