MY FAVES {March edition}

Well well well, here we are again... the last day of yet ANOTHER month.
I'm sorry, but it feels like just last week my friends and I were ringing in the new year at Bob Evans on New Years morning stuffing our faces full of hotcakes and way too much powdered sugar, because (duh) new years diet resolutions don't kick in until January 2nd.

I get so excited for the last day of every month (mainly because of Ashley's link up - buuuut also) because its ONE month closer to getting to marry that hunk I call Caleb ;) we are now officially 57 days away but who's counting!!!

Lets get to it!

#1. The fact that two of my greatest friends BOTH threw me amazing showers. Both so different, and both so equally fantastic! The decorations, the gifts, the FOOD (drool worthy!), it was all my favorite!

Shower #1!
Shower #2!
#2. My new adorable bracelets from miss Anna!! I will apologize in advance for the terrible quality, I had no picture of JUST them so I had to zoom and enhance what I could... take it ;) they are these adorable collapsable little pink and YELLOW bracelets, you could say I'm obsessed.

#3. My "housewarming" and "shower" gift's from Amanda! Seriously, look how cute this card is! It opened upwards with this beautiful quote, and it was too tiny to write on so I got a sweet attached note with it, along with some ADORABLE photo albums for our living room! :)

#4. My friends "advice card" from one of my bridal showers. It was awesome.

#5. Our wedding invitations that are about to be sent out, woo woo!

#6. The fact that Caleb and I are getting so involved with church. Last weekend before my bridal shower, I shot some pictures at a new video shoot for our church.

#7. J.T.'s new album! Holllaaaa.

#8. This cute shirt...but my wallet said "psstt- you're saving for a wedding! Remember?" Ohh the joys of window shopping.

#9. HAIRCUTS. Wooo. Thankfully.

#10. As always... this guy.

This is the shot my gorgeous Erin got blown up into a canvas for my bridal shower!! Its already hanging in the apartment.
So, what were YOUR favorite things in March!? Be sure to link up with one of my giiiirls; Ashley!

Throwback Thursday! {our mini-story}

We were babies.
Liiittle tiny babies when we first got "reconnected". I say reconnected because we met when I was in 7th grade, and he was in 9th (scandalous, I know). We met through my best friend Lyndsie, who was in youth group with Caleb.

One of the first and only nights I hung out with the youth group, we all went to Lyndsie's and watched The Notebook. Caleb thought he was so funny (he was), and asked me to go lay in the street with him like Noah and Allie did (we totally had pictures of it, until Lyndsie's dad's computer crashed...sad story).

After that, he never made a grand gesture to hang out so I didn't think he was interested... all the while for the next few years, Lyndsie drops hints in my ear of how "Caleb thinks you're so cute, Caleb wants to see you, Caleb keeps talking about you...lalala"... and she always told him there was never a chance, and to just give up because I was already taken.

& do you think that boy gave up? I don't think so.

Flash forward to my senior year of high school.
I hadn't yet broken up with my long-time high school boyfriend, but had been waiting for the right time to do so. Those of who you break up know there is never a "right time". I had just gotten saved at my first ever church-camp experience and had plans to get baptized on my 18th birthday in a few weeks.

Call me crazy, but I had been pleading praying for God to bring me someone who would love me despite my mistakes, flaws, and to bring me someone who would bring me closer to Him, someone who would treat me with true respect and faithfulness. Someone who would understand that bad days for me means you come over and watch a chick-flick while I cry...someone to bring me ice cream when Aunt Flo comes for a visit... someone to make me laugh so hard I can't breathe, and someone who would love me for me.

& he brought me Caleb.

How, you ask?
Well, at this point of the summer after I came back from camp, Lyndsie was having her graduation party, and waddyaaa know, mister Caleb is there, too. We hadn't seen each other in years & we immediately picked up where we left off. This is the only picture we got that night...

He obviously had his eyes on me ;)
What is up with high school girls and peace signs? It was apparently my go-to. Regardless... I broke up with my then-boyfriend the next day and the rest is history...

{There are more fun details on how we ended up together...but I'll save those for next week}

Embarrassing ones

So yesterday I showed you all the beautiful details and moments of my bridal shower. Well, here I am today to say there were some HILARIOUS and straight up embarrassing moments. I won't go into too many details (unless we email and I might slip some funny details), but I will let my ridiculous faces below do the talking.

Back story -- the women in Caleb's family literally go ALL out with gifts, and at the last two showers I've been too, even was embarrassed for the bride-to-be...so now that it was me, I knew it was gonna be bad...and oh, I know think I caught the worst of it.

...in a good way.

All of the above were hilarious, embarrassing, but awesome gifts. Use your imagination, ladies.
See? They were funny.

As embarrassing as it may have been, I think I learned that its important to be able to laugh at yourself. & boy, did I learn!

*awkward transition*

My random's of the day:
Last night I addressed probably 100 invitations, which I think is quite the darn accomplishment!
Work is slowing down, sadly. Which means my days feel longer.
I'm slightly obsessed with Ashley & her adorable boys.
It is now officially 59 days until I get married. (woo woo!)
I am obsessed with my new pink and yellow post-its at the office.
I'm so ready for the snow to be gone. Bring on Spring!
I hate the tights I'm wearing today, I want to be in sweats.
I am loving miss Anna & her blog so much! Check her out nowww.

Happy Wednesday, every one!

Once upon a time...

...one of my favorite people on this Earth threw me a bridal shower... Wonder who that could beee??

But seriously...I got all the way to my shower and then forgot my camera...so you know I turned around, decided I'd be TEN minutes late for my own shower...and then showed up. I made quite the entrance ;)

The decorations were soo classy and beautiful... just perfect!

Not to mention these amazing cupcakes!
The burlap sacks were full of delicious taffy! The cupcakes came from a local bakery that I'm basically obsessed with, topped with delicious cherries!

Erin was so thoughtful in making all the decorations, everything she made (garland, tissue paper tassels, pom poms, etc) can and will be used in our wedding. I love that she did that! It meant so much...I instantly saw the decor and said "UM I'm totally reusing this!" ;)

Erin's lil collage pic of all the INCREDIBLE food. Yes, chick-fil-a nuggets made an appearance.

After some fun shower games (my grandma DOMINATED)...it was time to open presents! The only pictures I'll share today are the appropriate ones...come back tomorrow for some of the hilarious reactions I gave to my overly-embarrassing gifts!

I let my flower girl (who is my little cousin) help me open presents!

Look at that amazing canvas Erin got printed for us!!!!

Inside joke with some soon-to-be family...oh it got embarrassing.
Yellow towels!!! Thanks Erin!
Caleb's SWEET mammaw crotchet us this BEAUTIFUL blanket! Love the color :)

It truly was such a blast, I love every single last lady who came. I couldn't be more thankful I have each and every one of them in our lives. Caleb and I are sooo blessed beyond belief.

Funny story about the above picture -- that is Becca. I've introduced her on the blog before, and a few weeks back I revealed that she got ENGAGED! What was amazing was that right before this lil' picture was taken...she pulled me aside and "proposed" to me with a ringpop and asked if I'd be a bridesmaid in HER upcoming wedding, too! I can't even wait... :) its going to be beautiful!!

This amazing gal and her momma got us two sweet bookcases we wanted! Woo!!
My grandma and I!
I spy some baby teeth!!!

Sweetest lil baby ever, Marie and I!
MIL-to-be!
You all know Nora by now (below), if not...she is one of my Bridesmaid's daughters. Caleb and I love her like our own. We've watched her grow up...and I just love watching her develop into her own personality. Marie told me that she woke up the day of my shower and said "Kayla and Caleb are getting married like mommy and daddy?"& I think my heart just melted all over again. Love this little cuddle bug!

& that would be my flower girl, Maddie. She is just the sweetest, I have loved watching her grow up and I'm pretty sure that she is about as tall as me now... look at her! She's only 5...I'm going to guess she turns out to be a model tippin' the scales back at 99 pounds her whole life ;)

My shower was truly amazing... it is insane now that both my showers are behind me, and I can just look forward to my wedding. I really can't believe that two months from YESTERDAY Caleb and I will be saying our vows. Where the heck does time go!?!?

One last picture for the road...

Cupcake, anyone!?
Caleb and I got so many personal gifts, from a keepsake box, a hand-crotchet blanket, "bride & groom" Tervis Tumblers, to a huge blown up canvas of my favorite picture of Caleb and I. This shower was full of the most personal, heart touching gifts and I couldn't be more excited to fill our new home with all of them!

Thanks to everyone for being so excited for us through this journey, you're the best!

A so-so recap of my incredible weekend.

Here we are again, yet another Monday... & I'm supposed to be recapping my bridal shower.

Well, I'm a bad bad blogger. This weekend has been SO insanely packed full of good things I just had no time to sit down and re-cap it all, sooo you'll get it later this week, more than likely tomorrow.

BUT let me just say, miss Erin out-did herself and threw me such an AMAZING shower. I truly don't know what I'd do without her! Cannot wait to show you all the pictures and how BEAUTIFUL it was!!

The only cell phone picture I took was this...could she get any cuter?!
The food was incredible you guys, um let me start with the best... she had Chick-fil-a nuggets (!!!!) with my favorite sauces AND their sweet tea!! I might have had an entire gallon all by myself ;) Erin made her famous dip, that we like to call crack dip. My favorite candies (York peppermints and Ghirardelli caramels) were sprinkled all around the table...some delicious veggie pizza, a ginormous fruit/veggie tray AND my favorite kind of lemonade...I think she knows me well ;)

This shower was so much fun, I almost lost my voice I laughed so stinkin hard. I won't give away TOO many details yet, since this isn't my "official shower post". Hehe... gotta leave ya guessing.

However, my grandma and I did spend all Saturday night making the centerpieces for our wedding and gaahh, I am in love. I will give you a small sneak peek...

Sorry for the short post, but like I said...my weekend was JAM PACKED. So this will have to do for today...

But wait...ready for the cutest moment of my weekend?

We had a volunteer launch at our church last night and our favorite little girl Nora cuddled right on up into my man's lap while stuffing her face with a cookie. I swear, she's got him wrapped around her little finger...and he doesn't mind one bit.  It makes my heart so happy to witness how great he is with kids!

Random fact of the day: today is two months away from the day Caleb and I say "I DO"!!!! Can't even believe it.

Linking up with the amazing Sami today!
