Recycling our love story.

For those of you who have been blogging for a couple years -- do you ever look back on your first few published posts? Man oh man, that's what I just did. It caused quite a few emotions in me. Mostly embarrassment that I knew nothing about blogging, link ups, or writing in general. But way more than that? I felt happiness. I came across one of my first posts. You see, I started blogging when I was about to turn 21, and that's right before Caleb and I got engaged (biggest surprise of my LIFE). I decided to simply "recycle" that post and let you all read a fun little love story today for those of you who don't know it yet...  (circa 2012)
______________________________________________________________

I know this blog has gone nowhere, and its my own fault. I am ready to commit. Something has come over me this week, and I like it. I am more motivated than ever. SO... since I am using this blog as almost a personal diary so I can look back on this stage in my life, I should tell you..

I GOT ENGAGED!!!!
As some of you may know, my (then) boyfriend came with my family on vacation to our annual spot of Hilton Head, SC. (gorgeous - you must go at least once!) We arrived on Saturday, the 18th, and he casually asked me to take a walk on the beach later that night (thank goodness I showered). So around 7 we left the house and took a cute bike ride down, parked them, and started on our slow walk. This was a Saturday, our first night there, and each was practically no-mans land, where the heck was every one?! I didn't mind one bit though, I'm a total sucker for a hand-in-hand walk anywhere with my man.

After about ten minutes of walking, he mentions that we should take a goofy video (something we do often), send it to Erin and Jared and just tell them we arrived safely, and also a "look how jealous you probably are--we're on a beach and you're not" kinda video ;) I prop my iPhone up against my bag and we begin talking to the camera awkwardly... (nothing unusual)...

About 40 seconds in, he says "lets go jump in the waves", and I'm all about THAT too. Who cares about wet clothes?! You're not on the beach everyday! So, we get up, start to walk towards the beach (video camera still rolling) and I completely run into him while he is at a dead stop. I throw my hands up without looking too obvious and am all "what the heck are you doing?! I thought we were going towards the ocean!" and you know the rest...

He got down on one knee, whipped out the most beautiful perfect ring that my bare left hand never knew it had been missing, I back up - probably from sheer shock - and cover my mouth because I am SO stinkin' surprised... and as he is reaching for my left hand, I finally give it to him... and he said the most simplest of sentences he's ever said to me. Something a little like... "Kayla, I've loved you from day one, and I've always wanted to do this. You make me the happiest guy on Earth and I can't imagine spending a day without you. Please, will you be my wife?" (there were a few silly comments in there too, but you get the gist).. I couldn't contain the river of tears that were coming. I first said "SHUT UP are you kidding?!" then.. smiled what was probably the biggest smile I've ever stretched across my face, and said YES! We did some jumping and crying and hugging, kissing, you know. All the while, the video is still streaming, and we kind of just forget about it being there.

I had always known I wanted to marry him, but never knew how badly I needed him in my life until he said he couldn't imagine spending another day without me. Those words are something every girl deserves to hear, and I am so blessed and thankful that God gave me him so early in life. We tried to not plan anything on vacation, but he was just as excited as I was.. and we did a little bit. After a few planning let downs, we have both been reminded that its not all about the decorations and colors, venue or attire, but that its about him and I, and God. We are striving to keep God the center focus on our relationship DAILY. It has been so much fun to plan so far, and I am just so excited that he will be mine, for the rest of my life.

If I haven't thanked you in a few days God, I truly am sorry, you've blessed me beyond belief and I am so thankful for everything you do for me.

Weekend Perfection

This weekend was everything I needed it to be. No major obligations, and full of time with my favorite people. I spent some quality time by myself Saturday morning while Caleb had some other obligations. I took myself on a nice long run, then spent some time baking in the kitchen! Guys, these oreo truffles I posted about Friday turned out amazing. Think cake pops, in the shape of Reese eggs basically. Heaven, right?

Saturday was amazing! We finally used a gift card for lunch out, then stopped by the theater to see Batman vs. Superman. To be honest? It was kinda slow, and I'm just such a fan of the Avengers, so I was kind of biased walking in. Regardless, it was still fun to spend time with my man all day! We went home that evening and enjoyed some quality time with our couch :)

Easter was perfect. The amazing weather, an incredible message at Church, and so much time with my family! I couldn't get enough.

After church, we stopped by my Dad's for lunch and corn hole. It was so nice spending so much time outside.

After that, we stopped by my Nanny & Buddy's. It was awesome just spending hours around the lake fishing and playing with their pups. I love time with them! It doesn't happen near as often as we'd like, and I'm reminded this weekend how important family is.

One of the coolest things about this day, though? The adorable basket Caleb made me. We haven't normally done these in the past, but he made my whole day with this one! The "pack of gum" was actually filled with adorable notes from him, too. I swear, he's the best!

This was the exact kind of relaxing weekend I needed before the craziness of April begins! I'm honestly feeling refreshed, inspired and ready to go! Hope all of you had an awesome Easter!

Friday Favorites || Easter Weekend

Ah, sweet Friday, I'm so happy to see you. This week has been a doozy! Between crazy days at work, long training runs, and late night editing sessions, I'm pretty tired! We've really been looking forward to this weekend, its basically our last full free one for a while, so we have some real plans to ensure we enjoy it!!

Favorite Recipe || Easter Egg Golden Oreo Truffles
Honestly. How can you go wrong with these?! Caleb is helping some family move to their new place tomorrow morning, and I plan on whipping up a batch or two of these for our cheat night!

Favorite Workout || Simply running outside
I ran over 4 miles a couple times this week and it felt amazing. BUT Wednesday nights run was the absolute best. If we didn't have to stop for dinner, I felt like I could've easily run further. I love having runs like that, makes me realize my endurance is building!

Favorite Purchase || My new tiny notebook
I've used this about 7 times this week since buying it. It's coming in handy like crazy for ideas I get, lists I want to make, or just random doodles.

Favorite Moment || Relaxing on the couch with Caleb.
and also seafood for dinner 3 nights in a row on the cheap.

Favorite Funnies || Too many to count
Me every morning at work this week:

When someone at work starts telling me a meeting no one wants to go to is cancelled...

How excited I am its the weekend...

I hope everyone has an amazing weekend. Easter is one of my favorite holidays and I love everything about it. More than the cute bunnies and candy, I'm thankful for my Savior, and that He's filled with grace. Enjoy!!

The best kept secret at our grocery...

You know how when you try really hard to be better in one area of your life, it seems to sort of trickle into other areas of you life as well? That's kind of what this is. Caleb and I have tried (other than those addicting local donuts) to be really healthy and more conscious about how we treat our bodies day in and day out.

Last week I had a record number of steps and it felt amazing. It made me want to beat my best, every day. I did take Sunday-Tuesday off this week, and last night we went out on a run. I was so worried my run would suck, because this week at work has been INSANE. Okay, insane would be an understatement. I've never been this busy there! I'm covering for two co workers so I'm basically doing triple the work, and its crazy. Regardless, I felt pretty defeated by the time I got home, but we laced up and hit the pavement anyway.

What's crazy is I had one of my best runs ever. We did almost 4.5 miles! By the time we stopped, I realized I could've kept going, but I was starving.

Oh yeah, back to the point of this post. So, I've realized that when I take more steps, I become more motivated, which in turn makes me want to continue eating better, which saves SO MUCH MONEY.

Caleb and I also discovered Krogers best kept secret. If you go to the fresh seafood section, you can buy fresh seafood for an insanely cheap price, they'll season it, throw it in a ready to bake foil bag, and voila! You have hot dinner 30 minutes later. It's basically the best thing we've ever discovered. Tuesday we had Rosemary Garlic Salmon, last night was Chipotle Lime Cod. Can you say DELICIOUS?!

Anyway, hope everyone is having a great week! Other than it being crazy at work, I can't complain! I'm thankful for a night at home tonight with no plans. Maybe I'll find myself finally picking up that book I've been meaning to read! Have a fun day, friends!

Weekends are busy!

Although it was the first official weekend of Spring, I have to say, our weather was not cooperating. All of last week I was able to take long walks and enjoy nothing but 50-60 degree weather and warm sunshine. This weekend? Nothing but cold breezes and spitting rain. Of course, we were scheduled to photograph a wedding during the cold day, but regardless, we managed and I believe we snagged some beautiful shots for Ashley and Michael.

Her bridesmaid dresses were a dream, and the overcast sky cooperated for us.

We had a great time at the reception and left feeling ready for wedding season. Luckily, we have one more free weekend to enjoy before things get a little crazy in April!

The rest of the weekend was spent running around shopping for Erin's shower! My MIL and I stopped by Panera for lunch (I ordered the Fuji Apple Chicken Salad - it was pretty tasty, but I prefer their seasonal Strawberry Poppyseed Salad!) to finalize our master shopping list, and then hit the town. It was awesome to finally start purchasing things and having them in hand to get a better visual for our theme. Erin finally got the invitation in the mail last week and our theme is A Storybook Shower! See the ADORABLE (if I do say so myself) invitation below...
(Blocked out some sensitive info-obviously)

It's been so much fun to plan this shower. I'm honestly having a blast with it. I can't wait to shower her with gifts and love and just have a ton of awesome ladies together to celebrate Baby M! We're all so excited!

Sunday evening was spent with our youth group, and then watching The Walking Dead with my man.

Easter is almost here, and I have like NO decorations, which stinks because its one of my fav holidays (because of the reason as well as it means Spring is here!!). I saw the cutest Easter wreath at the store the other day. Maybe at this point I just wait until Easter passes so they are super cheap? Then I can use it next year!! #logic

I hope everyone had a great, safe weekend. Have a fun Monday, friends!

5 on Friday || Our Week

March Madness is officially upon us and up until I woke up this morning I had a perfect bracket - which is hilarious as I know NOTHING about college basketball. I'm definitely a sports gal, but college ball has never been my forte. I love when unexpected teams win, and I found myself screaming at the TV for Little Rock to win (yeah, I was home alone). Something about a little bracket competition, okay competition in general, makes me a little crazy.

This was a great week indeed, though. Not my normal, busy, rushed feeling at all. I made sure to actually get out and enjoy my lunch breaks (instead of editing photos) and that consisted of long walks at the park (bonus points for amazing weather) and making my planner beautiful again!

We're trying really hard to get with it in the health/exercise department like we used to, and making it a true lifestyle change, Allowing myself to have a clear schedule everyday after work this week (which was intentional) really helped make that start possible for us! My own personal goal this week was to get over 10K steps everyday and I can happily say I crushed that goal! One day I was over 17K! #proud
The one thing that really hit me this week was news that my sweet Nora was back in the hospital. If you remember back in January she was in the hospital with a lot of breathing complications. Well, it happened again. Poor girl was on oxygen for days, but of course, that strong little gal got better and was able to go home only a few days after. Look at that adorable smile! The world can be a scary place, with a lot of unknowns, but there are so many good things to stay focused on!

I hope everyone had some highlights this week to celebrate! Wedding season is nearly in full swing (starting in April for us) but we happen to have a wedding to shoot tomorrow. I'm excited to shoot again, its been a while! Hoping the weather will get its act together and cooperate for a couple hours for photos!

I also hope you have some fun plans for the weekend! Anything exciting on the agenda? Have fun!!

My life in numbers.

Caleb and I ran a few miles yesterday again and I am pretty much dying today. Walking up/down the stairs is proving to be somewhat difficult...but I kind of love it. I love knowing my body is sore because I'm treating it well and exercising more! We had the most simple, delicious, low-carb, salsa chicken for dinner last night (thanks crock pot), and I'm hoping I can make this again tonight! It turned out so well last time!

In other news! I've seen these fun posts floating around the blog world for a couple years, off and on, so I thought I'd take a stab at it. I always love getting to know other bloggers a little better! Here are some fun facts about me, in numbers...

24// the number of full years I've been alive!
2009// year I graduated high school
9// my lucky number.
5// number of wisdom teeth I have.

24// years I've lived in Ohio
17// times per day that I wish I had perfect vision.
0// number of children we have
2// full number of years we've been married.

2// half marathons I've completed
3+// amount of years I've been blogging
0// broken bones/surgeries *knock on wood*
9// age when my parents got divorced

10+ // how many random notepads and journals I have around the house.
1// number of bananas I have for breakfast almost every morning
2// amount of braids I know how to do (fishtail + basic)...someone teach me!!!

2// favorite colors that I have. Bet you can't guess the number one? ;)
4// number of times I'm trying to run a week
4// siblings I have. 1 brother by blood, 2 brothers + 1 sister by marriage
676// number of blog posts I've published. How is that possible?!

5// minimum number of lists I make per day.
1// books I've completed this year (ahh, gotta get on this!!)
18// the age when I gave my life to the Lord
50+//number of weddings I've photographed.

I really do love posts like this on other peoples blogs - its a fun chance to get to know them better. So, what are a few random "number" facts I don't know about you yet??

Think about your 'why'

Last night Caleb and I went for a 3 mile run and it was basically the worst ever. Not going to lie, I almost cried. I could tell I was holding Caleb back, and he kept saying it was fine, yadda yadda yadda... but I hated that feeling. For some reason (& I know its because I didn't run at all last week) my legs felt like a ton of bricks and with every step my thighs burned worse and worse, which caused me to stop and 'catch my breath' a LOT more than normal.

I can usually last about a mile (again, getting back on the running wagon is hard) before needing to walk for a second, but we hardly made it three quarters of the way through our first mile before I was asking him to slow down, and then eventually stop. Bless Caleb's heart, he tried so hard to motivate me, and if I'm being totally honest it was kind of irritating in the moment ;) wife of the year, anyone? I truly just hated the jealousy I had for him. His speed, and more so his ability to keep going. He basically told me to get it together, find a good song to pump me up and to "think about my why". Uhh, hello..."what do you even mean!?!". He just started running faster and I had no choice but to push myself...

Well I'm really glad he did. We ended up finishing a 5k distance throughout our subdivision and while it felt like the worst thing ever, I'm so thankful he pushed me yesterday.

The duration of that run though, I continued thinking about what he said. What WAS my 'why'? Why was I pushing myself through the mental battle of running another mile when I truly just wanted to be at home relaxing on my couch?
During that last mile I think I found my answer. I'm running because I want to prove something to myself...that I can do hard things. I can train my body to endure more miles, I can become a better version of myself just through another mile or two. Not only become healthier physically, but spiritually as well.

Running brings me joy. Sometimes certainly not WHILE I'm running, but I generally feel more accomplished, and that certainly trickles down into other areas of my life as well. I want to be a better version of myself, all the time. More kind, more giving, more joyful...healthier, sillier and happier.

I feel like with running, there are good days and there are bad days...and then there are REALLY bad days, like yesterday. But that's kind of like our life, right? Some days are great, and others not so much. But we put on a good song, cry it out, move on, and get the job done. Because we CAN.

I'm thankful for the best training partner a gal could ask for. I truly am amazed at what we can push our bodies to do when we tell our minds we're up for the challenge. Whether that be a race, working a long weekend, or even simply making it to the grocery store with all your kids (I don't know how you mommas do it!!)...set yourself up to win this week!

The weather here in Cincinnati has been unreal lately. So much sunshine, light and breezy. I'm absolutely loving it! I even got a little red during our run, ouch! Who knew you could need sunscreen mid-March?

Happy hump day, friends!

Weekend happenings in our world.

This was one of those weekends filled with plans but also time to relax. Friday, we ran some errands for things we needed for ourselves and for the house. Caleb knew I'd been needing a few new dresses for wedding season so he "dropped me off" in the women's department of Kohls while he looked for some shoes. Even though I walked into the fitting room with LOTS of options, only two of them worked. BUT they were on sale, two for the price of one!

After that we got dinner and had ourselves a date night. I love when he doesn't judge me for ordering the appetizer combo sampler as my entree...

Saturday I had a shower to go to! It was for Caleb's cousins wife, and I hadn't seen her since our wedding which was nearly 3 years ago! It was fun catching up with some of Caleb's family I don't get to see much but it got me really excited for the shower we're throwing for Erin soon!

Sunday we heard an incredible message that absolutely rocked me to the core. After that, Erin and Jared came over and we caught up with them after their vacation and finally gave them some CUUUUTE outfits we found for our future nephew! It was so hard not buying everything in the store for the little guy, but we tried our best to each just pick one thing!

The rest of the afternoon was spent in a disgusting grease pile on the couch editing my life away. #nojudgement

Totally changing topics here. Anyone else a big Walking Dead fan!?

I'll be honest, this season wasn't really doing it for us, but once they came back from the mid-season break, its been ROCKING our world. Constant gasps, "OMG's!" and "SHUT - UP's!!!"(mostly on my part). We are loving this second half of the season. No spoilers from me, don't worry! We're kind of toying with the idea of starting the "Fear The Walking Dead" series to hold us over once this one is over. We watched the first episode or two of it and thought it was alright, but it looks to have gotten much better. Anyone have thoughts?

I hope everyone has a great week ahead of them. I'm pretty excited, actually! I don't have ANYTHING on my calendar this week (other than that silly job that helps pay our bills), so I'm looking forward to some special nights with my man! Happy Monday, friends!

Friday {loves of the week}

This was a great week, for a lot of reasons!

ONE || I got my car back - its officially fixed! I can honestly say it doesn't look like it was ever hit, which blows my mind. The whole process was insanely smooth. The accident happened last Tuesday, and I had the check for damages in my mailbox by Monday. Although the process wasn't "fun", driving my dream car for the duration of the week WAS! Dodge Chargers ROCK.
Parked car. Don't worry. See? Zero mph!
TWO || I've been using the crap out of my first Maybook. Is this not the cutest notebook ever? I like having it for anything and everything I may need to jot down. It's most recently gotten a lot of use for planning Erin's shower, but I'm also writing down meal ideas, client notes, etc.! I love the freedom of a random notepad!

THREE || I think I stumbled upon my new favorite (youtube) cardio dance channel. This dude's got SASS and I love myself a good hip hop class. I'm too cheap to pay for a gym that offers classes (at least until we're out of debt), so this will have to do!

FOUR || This made Caleb and I both laugh so hard the other night. Probably because that's me 4 out of 5 nights of the week. Right after dinner, its make up off, contacts out, and sweats on. #sorrybae! JK, I don't really call him that... maybe... but I'm glad he still thinks I'm cute anyway!

FIVE || I've been editing my brains out this week and its getting me super excited for the other 27 weddings we have to photograph for 2016. Sometimes I get overwhelmed when I think about how MUCH we have ahead of us this year, but I do know that if I just keep that one-day-at-a-time mentality, we'll be just fine :) I can't wait to enjoy the ride that is 2016, alongside my man!

ALSO! This weekend marks my girl Angie's 25th birthday!!! I'm thankful for everything this girl is to me. She's one of a kind! So grateful we crossed paths and can be our totally weird selves when we're together! Love you, Ang! Cheers for being halfway to 50!! ;)

All cooped up.

If you've been around this blog for any amount of time, you KNOW how much I love my Chickfila. Not only the tasty food, but how involved in the community they always are. I've spent many birthday dinners there, many date nights with Caleb and many Sundays spent wishing they were open.

I came across this article online about an Atlanta CFA that started a "cell phone coop" for families who show up for dinner. If the family promises to keep their phones in it for the entirety of their meal, they'll all land themselves a free ice cream cone.

Can I just say that regardless of bribing someone with ice cream (which would totally work for me, by the way), this is an awesome idea and I pray people who visit their restaurant will partake. Regardless of getting ice cream or not, its so important for people to spend time looking at the person/people they love instead of that bright phone screen every single night.

There are just so many people on their phones on date night. While I definitely think its fine here and there, and its fun to show each other funny videos back and forth and laugh so hard we cry, or snag a quick picture to document life when you're together...I think its equally as important to talk about our days, to talk about our futures, to talk about anything and nothing at all etc.!

I was talking to Amanda a few weeks ago about how we've both used "conversation starters" with our husbands in the past. At first, they both thought it was kind of silly, but when we got into the questions, it sparked some really awesome, deeper level conversations. Ladies (and gentlemen), I challenge you to get to know your better half EVEN better this week.

Here are a few questions to ask your "person";

What's your first memory of me?
What's the dumbest thing you've ever done?
If you could witness something in history what would it be?
Would you rather always lose or never play?
How do you see our life in retirement?
If you could pick 3 foods to eat forever, what would they be?
What's another career you think you'd love?
What are your favorite things about yourself?
Would you rather meet your future grandkids or go back and meet your ancestors?

I'm sure you can think of tons more...but you get the idea! It's so important to invest in those you love...and sometimes that means having silly conversations with your hubby! ;)

Taco spin off.

Last night my mother-in-law came over and we spent hours upon hours planning details for Erin's shower that we're throwing next month. We finally organized all the chaotic ideas we had floating around in our brains, and came up with a serious amount of adorableness. My heart just can't wait to put all these ideas into motion!

Before we both whipped out our planners, notebooks, sharpies and magazines, I whipped up the yummiest taco themed meal and guys, it made me PUMPED for warmer weather. Now I'm basically begging Caleb to let us get an outdoor patio set so we can enjoy these warm nights (seriously, it was MID 70's last night!!!).

Pre baking:

Post baking: yes, I realize its terrible quality, but I didn't want my family judging me for taking photos of my food, so I was quick about it. They don't blog, remember? ;)

Anyway, I know that photo sucks, but I cannot wait to tell you how easy and delicious it all was!!!! You know I get easily intimated by main courses, but this was about the easiest thing I've ever made.

Easy Taco Bake
-1 tube of regular crescent rolls
-1 lb lean ground turkey
-3/4 cup favorite salsa
-Taco seasoning packet
-1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Step one: preheat oven to 375 and line your pie pan (8-10") with the crescent rolls.
Step two: cook your ground turkey (or beef) like usual.
Step three: drain the meat, stick it back in the skillet and add both your taco seasoning and salsa.
Step four: once its all mixed in, spoon it into the pie and cover it with cheese. Bake for 15-18 minutes until the crust is golden brown and cheeses melted.

Frito Salad
- 2 cans sweet corn, drained
- 1/2 red onion diced
- 1 diced green pepper
-1 cup light mayo (I used a little over 3/4 and it was fine)
-2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
-1 bag of Chili Cheese Fritos

Step one: mix every ingredient except Fritos in large bowl
Step two: if you are serving it right away, add Fritos last. If not, stick it in the fridge and add Fritos right before serving.

Don't even get me started on this Frito corn "salad" thing. I could've finished the entire bowl on my own. I'm so excited that I now have a go-to summer dish for parties, etc.! I hope you all like it, too! Enjoy your hump day!

Movies & Meds

Not much to recap of our weekend. We literally took turns napping on the couch, drinking Dayquil and making the worlds yummiest tea. We finally took a trip to The Little Clinic yesterday and discovered we are both carrying a yucky viral, upper respiratory infection - so that's been fun! ;)

Although we were sick as dogs, we got ourselves into 2 exciting things;
BOAT LOADS OF DONUTS

...and ZOOTOPIA. Although we were definitely the only adults in the theatre without children, we had ourselves a blast. The movie was obviously adorable, and we laughed our tails off. No pun intended.

This weekend, while we were lounging in our comfiest clothes, on separate couches, I looked over at Caleb and just said "can you believe we're married?!?!"! Haha! He must've thought I was crazy - as its been almost 3 years. However, its just funny to me when I think about how LONG we waited for the day to get married. We knew very early on in our relationship that we wanted to spend our lives together...it just felt like the right thing all along. I always pictured married life being this crazy adventure 24/7, and while sometimes it is, sometimes the adventure is just relaxing together over a New Girl marathon with brownies. I'm so thankful to have a man who is fine with doing absolutely nothing at all and not judging me for not putting an ounce of makeup on in 3 days.

In other news, I've got some serious planning on the agenda tonight for my sister in laws baby shower (eek - I still smile so big when I think about getting a nephew!!) next month!

5 on Friday || My Week

ONE || Is it Spring yet?!?! It's one of my favorite seasons. All the dead stuff comes back to life, and its time to spruce up the table with fresh flowers! Oh and you know, binge on Peeps & Robin Eggs all day. Seriously, does anyone else love those as much as I do?

TWO || I'm semi obsessed with pineapples. Caleb even got me an Alex and Ani pineapple bracelet for Christmas that I'm crazy about! Not only do pineapples taste amazing, I love that they are the fruit of hospitality and welcoming. So when I came across a pineapple CENTERPIECE last year I knew I had to save it. Seriously, how adorable is this? I'm dying to have a party so I can replicate it.
link
THREE || Finally got around to editing some of my baby brothers senior photos. Seriously, WHEN did he grow up!?! This shot was more of an outtake, but I kinda love it. I just can't believe he's got two and a half months until he's an official graduate.

FOUR || It's crazy to me how one week I'm a total beast and run 5 days in any weather condition... then the next week I'm a total loser and eat pizza all the time. I know that I have to tough through it though to continue on my training for the half marathon in a few months.

FIVE || I am so so thankful for this handsome groom of mine. I love how much our marriage has grown, and can't believe this May will mark THREE years of marriage! Time is FLYING, and I wouldn't want to do life with anybody else!

I hope everyone has a FUN weekend planned! We have absolutely nothing going on and it makes me so happy. We need a weekend to do everything and nothing! : )

What's New With You?

Yesterday was definitely a day where I thought to myself "what else can go wrong!?". It seemed like one thing after another was coming down on me and I was nearly in tears on my way home. Don't you just hate days like that? Everything seems to be going wrong and no matter what you do, it doesn't seem to get any better.

I always tend to worry over things that are out of my control, when that never does any good. I can honestly say that worrying over something has NEVER made that situation any better. Luckily when I saw Caleb and he gave me a big hug, I felt better. I'm always quickly reminded when I'm in his presence that life truly is so good.

Anyway, a few minutes after I'm wishing for my day to turn around, we show up to Enterprise and they have a Dodge Charger waiting on me. AKA: my dream car. I felt like a little kid in a candy shop. I couldn't contain my giddiness and thought to myself, get it together, Kayla, before she tells you you're being Punked. Turns out, she was being serious and handed us the keys. Except, they aren't even keys? It's like a weird push-to-start contraption that is way too fancy for me. My evening was beginning to turn around....

THEN! Caleb tells me we're heading out for a midweek date night and I just couldn't be happier. That man always knows how to make me smile. There seems to always be a silver lining in every weird, annoying situation. At least, I'm choosing to believe that.!

Other than that, not much news with me. Just trying to enjoy the rest of this downtime that Caleb and I have before the craziness that is April gets here. This month, we only have a few photography commitments but mostly March is full of free weekends and weeknights and I'm basically beside myself with excitement that Caleb and I have nothing to do these next few weeks.

What else is new with me?
-This dumb cold has come back to haunt me.
-We've eaten out entirely too much this week!
-Caleb and I are trying to plan a getaway for just the two of us!
-I'm insanely ready for Spring. Goodbye, snow!!!
-This link up! I love how random you can be with it. Thanks, Kristen!
