See you, August!

Ahhh sweet, sweet August. You came and went so fast. You know, you are my favorite month of the year.
It's my birthday... the month Caleb proposed, the month we celebrate our dating anniversary, and its the start of a wonderful football season... oh, and it also means FALL is right around the corner.

So, what were some of my favorite parts of August?
Oh you know...turning 22 (I have yet to blog about that!) Caleb took me to the new casino downtown for a fun night of stuffing my face (see picture below this one) and winning some cash!

Eating way more crab legs than an average human probably should. No shame.

Taking a new favorite picture of my HUSBAND and I!

Getting birthday presents!
Yellow earrings from link-up host Ashley herself!
Monogram necklace from miss Anna!
& hilarious "I shoot people" necklace, from the sweeeeet sweet Alexaaa!
Thanks also to Robin, Amanda and Ashley for the cutest birthday cards, EVA! (wow- almost all of their names started with A!)
Seriously, can I wear them all at once!?
Receiving this candle from my soulmate, Erin!

Shooting more in August, like the cutest gender reveal party on the planet.

Getting my picture taken in front of my fav place EVAAA. Seriously, the chicken has to be coated with drugs. I can't stop eating them!

& last but definitely not least... one of my favorite families I got to photograph earlier this month.

I hope you've all had the BEST August ever.
Looking forward to the last few months of this year, with lots of football...and lots more pictures.

Stay happy, friends!

I can't even use my own crock-pot.

As embarrassing as it is to admit that, its kind of true.
I've literally not used it...not once! I am DYING to use it, but a wee bit intimidated.

So anyway, Caleb and I did some of our meal planning on both Monday and Tuesday night and we went grocery shopping in our newest Kroger Marketplace last night. It was aaaamazing.

We made a whole list, and I took my pen, and literally checked things off my list. It was AWESOME. Felt great...then we get home, unpack all of our groceries... and I kiiind of realized I missed a main ingredient I'd need for my new crock-pot recipe.
The meat.

Is this a joke?!
It's almost like my subconscious is telling me "you can't do this, you can't cook"...and sadly, I'm starting to believe it. There was even a point last night when Caleb and I were shopping, looked at each other, and one of us said "are we ever going to be able to cook well?" Ha!

At this point, it was 8PM...we had been at the grocery store all stinking night. SO you know what I made for dinner once we finally got home? Freaking waffles.

PLEASE. SOMEONE TELL ME THEY'VE BEEN THROUGH THIS!
We've only been married for  3 months, and so I know there is still hope I can turn into my grandma who makes the best family meals every single night...
right?!

I've talked to a couple close friends about help with simple meals (because with starting to run, I do NOT feel like spending an hour+ prepping my dinner), so if anyone has ANY advice...please.
Let me have 'em!

One final hoorah!

You thought the wedding posts were over? Ohhhh my. How wrong you were. Just this once!

But promise this will be a short one. It's our photo booth! I loved how our photographers didn't have a backdrop...they just used what they had. They brought some lights and made that sunset look even BETTER.

This was one of our photographers, Amanda. I have loved getting to know her!
My dad, his fiance, and his parents!
My MOH and her fun family!
Two of my best friends!
Blackford (our groomsmen) and my mom!

I just love this picture because its EVERY single one of Caleb's roommates from college. They are amazing friends and we were SO happy that every single one of them could make it.

Then they let me join in on the fun!

& then Lydia (another wife!) joined us!

Alex & Kelsey! The newlywed couple from my post yesterday!

One of my faves!
My flower girl (right) and her best friend, Allie.

The in-laws.
My nanny and mom!
and another!
little brother and his girlfriend.
One of the coolest families I know!
and for my favorites!

EVERY ONE OF MY BRIDESMAIDS! :)

My aunt, uncle, and little cousins!
our amazing pastor!

All we needed was a pitchfork.

I think I loved this so much more than a typical photo booth because it was different. We had no backdrop, only a few silly props and our goofy personalities. Some of my favorite photos from this day were captured during this time, and I will have a blast looking back at these when I'm 87 years old...hopefully still wearing silly heart glasses and fake top hats with my old husband.

Happy Tuesday, friends.

Walkin in Memphis!

Friday, I took the day off so we could road trip with our faves to Memphis, TN and watch one of Caleb's childhood friends tie the knot. Also, Caleb was in the wedding...and Jared (his brother!) was an usher. It was so fun! They had their ceremony and reception in an ADORABLE southern ballroom that Erin and I just could not get enough of.

Rehearsal;

Stolen from Erin ;)
Us with the groom!

Then Caleb decided to get up there and give a speech...which totally made me cry. Alex is SUCH a great guy, and his bride is such an amazing, beautiful person and I'm so excited to continue getting to know her. It was really cool to listen to all the speeches, and see how loved this great couple is. We are so blessed to know them!

Saturday, after Erin and I stuffed our faces with Mexican (woops!) with our husbands, we dropped the guys off at the ballroom to get ready with the groom, and Erin and I went back to the hotel to enjoy a few hours of free time (ie; giggling, taking videos, drinking mountain dew and blasting Katy Perry) before the fun got started.

Then, we were off in the car.... thank goodness for AC, it was literally BLAZING outside!
We arrived to the ceremony spot, and it looked even more beautiful than it did the night before.

Seriously, when I saw Caleb...I couldn't get enough of his adorable hairstyle. He has NEVER done this, and I think he totally pulls it off. I have one hunky husband, if I do say so myself.

Seriously, how gorgeous is she?!
The kiss!!
& just after, it was time for some appetizers and dancing.
The new couple ate together upstairs in private before coming down to be a part of the reception. It was an adorable idea, and we were all so excited when they came down! I totally remember those few sweet moments Caleb and I got together on our big day, and it was so much fun!

The decorations were simple, and gorgeous!

This may or may not be my new favorite shot of us! Thanks, Erin!

The new Mr. and Mrs!!!

Their first dance was ABSOLUTELY precious. One of their groomsmen wrote the song, and sang it for them. Definitely not a dry eye in the place, and I WILL buy purchasing it when he puts it up on itunes...he was great!

Erin and I with the beautiful bride!!

Honestly, how adorable are they?

We had a night full of fun dancing, and then we finished the night with a sparkler send-off!

It was a long drive out there, but so so worth it to spend it with our best friends. We love you, Alex & Kelsey, and we wish you two all the good things in life and MORE!

Hope you all had a good weekend!
