Not much to recap of our weekend. We literally took turns napping on the couch, drinking Dayquil and making the worlds yummiest tea. We finally took a trip to The Little Clinic yesterday and discovered we are both carrying a yucky viral, upper respiratory infection - so that's been fun! ;)
Although we were sick as dogs, we got ourselves into 2 exciting things;
BOAT LOADS OF DONUTS
...and ZOOTOPIA. Although we were definitely the only adults in the theatre without children, we had ourselves a blast. The movie was obviously adorable, and we laughed our tails off. No pun intended.
This weekend, while we were lounging in our comfiest clothes, on separate couches, I looked over at Caleb and just said "can you believe we're married?!?!"! Haha! He must've thought I was crazy - as its been almost 3 years. However, its just funny to me when I think about how LONG we waited for the day to get married. We knew very early on in our relationship that we wanted to spend our lives together...it just felt like the right thing all along. I always pictured married life being this crazy adventure 24/7, and while sometimes it is, sometimes the adventure is just relaxing together over a New Girl marathon with brownies. I'm so thankful to have a man who is fine with doing absolutely nothing at all and not judging me for not putting an ounce of makeup on in 3 days.
In other news, I've got some serious planning on the agenda tonight for my sister in laws baby shower (eek - I still smile so big when I think about getting a nephew!!) next month!
Ugh about the virus, I had one of those before Christmas and they are nasty.
ReplyDeleteHey, those doughnuts look familiar, I might have been at that same shop this weekend. I almost snatched the red velvet doughnut, but instead when with chocolate cinnamon toast crunch.
I hear you on the married comment. I've made similar comments to my husband. Sometimes it's so strange how the SMALLEST thing makes me the happiest and nostalgic. We don't NEED to always have plans on the weekend with people, we enjoy being together and just living life. I love that sense of familiarity and security.
Im sorry you guys weren't feeling well this weekend--I feel like theres a nasty something going around lately. Hopefully you're on your way to being better!
ReplyDeleteI love the last sentiment in your post--married life isn't always adventures across the world and doing crazy new things...sometimes I think the best moments of a marriage are the everyday things. My husband and I always said, while we were dating, that running errands together on the weekend was fun with the other, and that just makes everyday life that much better :)
I hope you're starting to feel better! So many nasty things are going around. I can't seem to shake a sinus infection, but that might be partially weather related. I definitely want to see Zootopia! It looks so good - I can't even deal with the sloth scene. And what helps move a virus right along better than a dozen donuts? :)
ReplyDeleteFeel better!! I'm pretty sure Disney movies are definitely the best kind of medicine though!! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing that you two can just enjoy each other, lounging and doing nothing. I'm glad Zootopia was good, I want to see it! Feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteOh no! Hope ya'll get to feeling better soon. I want to see Zootopia so bad lol!
ReplyDeleteHope y'all are feeling better! Viral infections are the worst. Glad y'all were able to rest all weekend and got to spend time together...even if y'all weren't feeling too great. Those donuts look delicious!! Hope y'all have a great week! :)
ReplyDeleteKnock on wood we haven't gotten any major sickness. Hopefully you guys are back to your normal selves soon.
ReplyDeleteSorry you guys have been feeling so yucky, sending *hugs*. And gimme all the donuts!

Ugh, feel better. We all had something terrible at our house last week and it was so not fun so I commiserate... clearly we should have gotten ourselves donuts - those look amazing :)
ReplyDeletehaha marriage is definitely more like that than crazy adventures every day. sorry you guys have been sick, but yay donuts!!
ReplyDeleteZootopia and donuts sounds like a great weekend to me <3 Hope you both feel better soon!!
