Our weekend: donuts and photo shoots!

Friday:  We attended the Basketball Senior night for one of our youth group students. It was epic! They CRUSHED the other team!

Saturday: Caleb woke me up and said we were going to the flea market! I didn't feel that those plans required clean hair so you know this girl threw a hat over her leftover curly hair and called it a day ;) The day got even better when Caleb agreed to DONUTS on the road! Then, the lady made my weekend when I asked for a regular glazed donut and she told me she had a hot fresh one in the back. Legit the best thing I've ever tasted.

Later that evening Erin and I had a girls night in! Including some of the best things on earth: coloring books, buffalo chicken dip and a hilarious movie. I love nights like that. Just talking for hours, catching up on life, and unwinding!

Sunday: I did something a little bit outside of my comfort zone by photographing a head shot/brand session for a new friend, Carly! She owns Surcee Florals. She's so so talented and seriously SUCH a sweetheart! I couldn't help but edit a few right when I got home, so here's a sneak peak!

After that, we shot a sweet session with this adorable family! Tara is one of Caleb's (many) cousin's, and it was so fun hanging out with them - they live over an hour away so we don't get to see them as often as we'd like! We had a great time during their session, and seriously, how cute are they!?

I hope everyone had a great weekend. Happy Monday, lets make it an awesome one!!

Fixing the blurry photos!

Guys! Remember a few weeks ago how I griped and complained about the significant changes in photos uploaded by Blogger? I thought I was going a little crazy as some of you said you hadn't noticed much. Then, a few of you said you HAD noticed, and gave me some suggestions. I didn't feel like any of them were making a significant difference though, and it was super frustrating!

Well, last night while editing some wedding shots, I knew there had to be an answer of some sort, and I think I FINALLY found it! I'm no HTML whiz by any means, but in the coding there is a second section with "s640" written in (at least for the photo size I was uploading). Well, if you double that for high-res files...you get CLEAR IMAGES (by putting in "s1280" or higher)! I see totally clear uploads now! I feel like my blogging game is back, baby!

I know, I know, way too much excitement for a Thursday morning but I had to share my little find because a few of you said it was something you had also noticed. I feel like I can finally share more images from weddings and not nitpick my every post!

ANYWAY!
I found this random shot when going through our 4th of July wedding and thought it was kinda sweet. This bride was such a fun girl and I love that Caleb took her bouquet so she could fix her shoes. Such a gentleman :)

My discovery has made me want to share more random DSLR images that I've been holding on to (since I didn't want to upload them all blurry), so here's a little random photo dump from my personal life through the lens of my Nikon.

During a recent engagement session, a bride-to-be wanted to show me their save-the-date. It started out as a joke from her soon to be SIL and then they decided to keep it and actually use it! Is that not the coolest?! They are riding a SHARK. Ha!

A couple favorites from a recent wedding... get ready for your jaw to drop. She's stunning!

A fun shot of the ladies from the 4th.

Caleb and one of the sweet little babes from church!

That's all I've got for now, but I'm very excited, as you can tell! I hope everyone has a fantastic Thursday!

A colorful soirée!

Like I said yesterday, I had the chance to shoot a last minute Indian wedding reception over the weekend. We got the call last week; the couple decided two weeks ago it was time to get married and they whipped everything together in that little amount of time! I can't even express how beautiful the bride was. All these colors?! I was dying! Unfortunately, it began raining so the 'shoot' at a nearby park we wanted to do wasn't able to happen...so we snuck outside their venue before the reception began. All I had to work with was an unclean strip mall, but I'm very happy with how the shots turned out!

I meaaaaaan!! Girlfriend is rocking the purple lips!

My favorite thing about weddings is just seeing all the unique personalities, decorations, and traditions. I love this gig! I have loads more I want to share, but haven't got around to editing them yet.

On a more random note...last night, Caleb and I went to our worship leaders home and took part in the first Fantasy Football Draft! I've gotta say, I'm really proud of my team and have high hopes for the season!! Any of you ladies football fans?! Speaking of...I can't wait to link up with my soulmate this Friday for "Football Friday"!! Have a great day, friends!

PS - HAPPY BIRTHDAY ASHLEY!!!! I'm so happy we crossed paths in this humongous blog land... you have one of the sweetest hearts I know! Enjoy today, and all the surprises it brings :)

A crazy wedding filled weekend!

This is where I tell you all about my weekend...are bullet points fine? Cool.

-Friday, Caleb and I went to a wedding for a high school friend of mine. It was awesome to see a few old faces, I love my friends!

-Saturday, we had a wedding to shoot. The bride really wanted a few shots at a higher angle, and as I'm the shortest person you'll probably ever meet, Caleb volunteered to put me on his shoulders. I don't think that's ever happened in our relationship... we just took trust to a whole new level. ;) The Bride started crying from laughter at how terrified I was of "breaking" my husband, that she snapped this shot of us. It cracks me up, but those are two REAL smiles, people. I kiiiinda love that man of mine.

-Thriller happened... "THIS IS MY JAM!!!" *Caleb steals camera from me. "...make me look decent, these will probably end up on the blog"
Focused eyes.
-This happened when "I Like Big Butts" came on. A groomsmen snagged my camera like it was his job (and I carefully put the camera strap around his neck, you never know!!) and snapped these shots of us.

-Saturday night. Unfortunately, I've been getting severe migraines again, and they aren't fun to deal with. It's to the point that I don't want to open my eyes, or do anything at all really. I used to take medicine for them, so I'm hoping it doesn't get much worse. Feel free to send any good vibes my way!

-Sunday. Lead worship in children's church, had an impromptu Skyline date, then met this cute couple Downtown and spent some time capturing their adorable personalities for their engagement pictures. I love, love.

Hope everyone enjoyed their weekends!

{maternity shoot}

HAPPY FRIDAY, FRIENDS!!

Obviously, that is not my adorable pregnant belly seen below. That would be a friend from church. She and her husband asked if I'd be interested in a maternity shoot this Spring and of course I jumped at the chance, and we made it happen one evening earlier this week! Heather is seriously beautiful, and she has the most adorable little family, plus a little guy on the way! I hope you enjoy these shots as much as I enjoyed taking them!

Yikes. Any more beautiful faces and I think your screen might burst ;) hope you enjoyed.
