Weekend recap!

This weekend was a whirlwind! One thing after another, but it was all great stuff, so I didn't mind one bit!

Friday evening, after work, we headed over to Erin and Jared's for the thing we do best -- game night! We always have such a blast with them; we don't even have to be doing anything crazy elaborate. Just give us some chips and some Disney trivia and we're good to go!

Saturday we had another wedding! It was a fun change of pace from being Downtown like normal, and we got SO lucky with a gorgeous sunset. Of course, we love it when our couples trust us enough to let us sneak them out of the reception for 5 minutes to snag these golden hour shots! We think it's totally worth it!

Sunday was an awesome, productive day. I photographed the baptisms from both of our morning services and it was overwhelming, as usual. Such an amazing thing to get to witness!

Once we got home from lunch we dove right into productivity! Caleb cleaned up around the house, I did some laundry and cleaned out every inch of my car. I emptied the trunk, and even shop-vacced! It feels so good to have a clean car again!

That evening we had an end-of-summer hangout with our church and had homemade BBQ for dinner. It was so tasty! I always love hanging out with these friends of ours! I'm also really feeling some soreness today from an intense game of ultimate frisbee! We also had another baptism that night! So thankful!

Free weekend!

I know, who blogs about their weekend on a Wednesday? *hands up*

Friday we had one of our last weddings for a while, and I have to say, we're thrilled. I've said it before and I'll say it again; we LOVE photographing these huge moments for people, but we are due for some time off to enjoy life!

Ashley and Brandon couldn't have asked for better weather, but it was definitely WARM!

Saturday we woke up and had an ADORABLE family session with some of Caleb's cousins. They have SEVEN kiddos and while you'd think it would've been a crazy hot mess, it was the polar opposite. Their children were amazing! We had a great time.

After that we headed to lunch at Five Guys, then went to the Star Wars Costume exhibit in our local museum. It's currently on tour in Cincy and it did not disappoint! Very cool to see some original costumes/drawings from the movies!

We spent the late afternoon at home, then had a spur of the moment hangout with Erin & Jared at their house! Lots of fun board games were played, and just catching up on life.

Sunday after church we took my Dad to Red Robin for Father's Day and it was great to spend some time with him and Amy!

I had such an amazing Senior Session on Monday after work with a gal who is basically family. Emilee is my Aunt's niece and so we've known each other for years! Isn't she stunning?? And can we talk about the SUNLIGHT!?

Last night we had another young adult hangout and I'm pretty sure I made the best s'more in the world. Seriously! A reese cup with TWO marshmallows! We all had a great time hanging out, playing backyard games, and catching up on life.

Hope you're all having a great week so far!! :)

Vacation {Nags Head, NC}

Well friends, I'm back! Last week was honestly a whirlwind and this past weekend was even more so. I haven't been this tired in a long time, but I somehow peeled myself out from under the covers this morning and to work on time. This is about the time I wish coffee came in IV form! ;)

I decided to (mostly) unplug while we were on vacation to really unwind and it was seriously refreshing. Vacation blog posts are always difficult to write because I can't really break it down by day; every single day was a good mix of the beach, pool, sight seeing, swimming, laying out and eating LOTS of food! So I'll just recap the highlights for ya!

We arrived Saturday a bit before dinner and luckily everyone was more than okay with ordering pizza, so we did just that! But not before taking a quick dip in the ocean! I hadn't seen the beach in YEARS so I was more than ready!

Our first day was a solid day. Lots of sunshine, pool time, and good food. That night Caleb and I tried out a gourmet seafood buffet and OH MY WORD. The crab legs. So good!

Most nights ended with a walk on the beach, good conversation in the hot tub, or night fishing off the shore.

Tuesday was pretty gloomy so we used that day to explore a little. Caleb and I parted ways for a little day-date and headed to a fun OBX restaurant! After that, I hiked down to the beach to watch the guys boogy board and totally get eaten by waves. It was awesome.

The rest of our evening was filled with dinner at home, more hot tub time, and some ladder ball!

Wednesday was another beautiful day at the beach! I finished "Love Does" on our trip and I HIGHLY recommend it! We got so fortunate that the beach was NEVER busy or crowded. We truly had it to ourselves most days!

One of my favorite nights of the trip is when a few of us went to Sooey's BBQ in Kill Devil Hills. Guys, BEST RIBS OF MY LIFE. The entire experience was so fun! I mean, we even took a picture with the whole staff!

We went for a quick trip to the sand dunes and they did not disappoint. So gorgeous!

Other highlights worth mentioning: spending so much time w/ my nephew and best friends...that we had the coolest pool floats in the city... DUCK DONUTS...finding a giant yellow beach "chair"...and getting a good base tan!

Also waking up for sunrise at Jennette's Pier!

One of our last evenings there we made it a point to take some family pictures! I'm so glad we did because I think this might be my new favorite picture of Caleb and I! Thanks for the capture, Erin!

We had a great vacation with Caleb's family! Thankful for the time we got to spend together!

Whirlwind week.

Phew. I'm so glad it's Friday! This week did me IN. I've been totally off my blog game lately because every spare second I had this week to relax, that's exactly what I did! I'll be back next week with regularly scheduled posts, but for now, I'll tell you about some highlights of my week.

1. Getting a spontaneous dinner with our best friends on Tuesday! We stayed out way too late, but those are the best nights!

2. Getting back into working out. I woke up everyday before work this week to get my exercise in! The Tone It Up Bikini Series started on Monday!  I kept my eating healthy (except that I did let myself have some candy last night! Whoops, but...#balance) and I'm feeling great! I have to say, being able to come home at night and not have to worry about losing more of my evening on a workout? It's amazing.

3. Caleb and I photographed a session for my new friend, Alex! She and I met through the local creative group (Rising Tide/Tuesdays Together) that I've mentioned before! We both wanted updated pictures with our men, so we're swapping our services to help each other out! She's such a sweet girl, and we had a great time! Honestly, how gorgeous!?!?

4. The NFL Draft. Does anybody else love watching it as much as we do!?!? I honestly don't think I could ever grow tired of watching some of their reactions to getting selected. It's the sweetest! Can we also talk about those girls who KILLED it singing the National Anthem!?! I had chills everywhere!

5. Getting to take walks on my lunch break. Although yesterday sucked and I had to turn around and go right back to work. It had been storming earlier in the day, but it stopped and the sun came out. So I thought instead of staying cooped up at work, I'd get some steps in and enjoy the sunshine. Of course the second I get my gym shoes on and walk about 100 yards away it starts raining. AWESOME. However I'm thankful because most days are gorgeous like this one below!

Caleb and I have another wedding tomorrow. The bride is a total sweetheart and I'm really excited to see her again (it's been a LONG time)! The weather isn't looking very good so keep your fingers crossed for us we get some sunshine/dryness.

Have a great weekend!!

Celebrating all weekend!

This weekend was full of celebrating! Friday night, Caleb and I had plans for a small surprise family grill out over at his oldest brother's house to celebrate Erin's 30th! Right after work we picked up 30 balloons (because why not), filled every inch of the car, and had ourselves a blast!

We had ourselves a few burgers/hot dogs, then spent the rest of the night around the fire!

Saturday I woke up bright and early to get a start on the day. I was attending a baby shower up in Celina, which is about 2.5 hours away. Sadly my girl Lyndsie who was supposed to go with me got pretty sick and had to stay home, so I made the drive solo, but it was worth every minute to celebrate my college roomie!! Doesn't she look amazing?!

When I got home, Caleb and I decided to pick up Chinese take-out and watch some movies. We love date-nights in! Sunday was full of relaxing. We finished all our laundry, cleaned up and I even did groceries! I felt like a total, productive boss! ;)

I'm really excited because today starts the Tone It Up 8 week bikini series and I actually woke up early before work to get my workout in. I feel so great and I know this is the best option for me - so I'm going to try and remind myself of this everyday!!

Make this Monday count, friends!

The rest of our weekend!

I was so excited to post about how relaxing our Easter was that I totally forgot to post about the rest of our weekend!

Last Friday my mother in law decided to have a spontaneous "Good Friday" dinner so we headed over there for a delicious steak/veggie dinner on the patio (which was amazing because Caleb cannot stand eating outside but it was basically 7 to 1 sooo we won), then we hung out around their fire pit and made s'mores. It was the perfect start to the weekend!

Saturday, we had our 6th wedding of the year! I had really been looking forward to this wedding because the Bride was such a genuine SWEETHEART! She and her fiance had been together for a long time, both had children, and she just wanted the focus of the day to be about their love. Nothing too frilly/outlandish - she just really wanted to be married to her man! Their ceremony was beautiful, and their reception was a blast! SO! MUCH! DANCING! I can't wait to show you guys more!

We put our cameras down when we were done but instead of leaving, we decided to stay hit the dance floor - which is basically our favorite part of the wedding day ;)

We're so lucky to meet so many awesome couples and document their stories!
