So were 6 days in... but its #nationaldonutday

Here we are! 6 days into June, and if I'm being honest I'm pretty impressed with us (and no, I won't be participating in National Donut Day today, sadly...*shocker). I know, I know, its only been 6 days. However, that means its 6 full days that we haven't failed at our goals, and 6 days we've done really really well at things. Instead of focusing on the 24 more days in the month we have, I'm choosing to only focus on today.

That's kind of my motto this month... take it DAY BY DAY.

I don't think I've really mentioned it but this is the month of plans. I'm talking an INSANE calendar filled with engagement shoots, birthday celebrations, a full time job, weekly church commitments, 3 weddings (2 of which are back to back days), and on the same day as our last wedding begins a 6 night straight photography gig for my church at our local camp we put on for nearly 300 community kids. It's exhausting to say the least, but so worth it when I see those kiddo's faces.

But like I said...I am choosing not to let the anxiety of my calendar get to me. If I wake up and only focus on the tasks for that particular day, I will be just fine. More than fine...I will be joyful.

Speaking of joyful...I genuinely feel that way when I skim over these pictures I shot for a friend and her siblings last weekend. They seriously look like they belong in a Lands End magazine. Amen?!

My friend Abbie is the one with really dark hair, we've been really great friends for a while but haven't stayed in touch as of late. We've decided to change that and get dinner soon! There's nothing I love more than staying in touch with friends...and actually hanging out face to face. Email and texting and calls are great, even snail mail! But NOTHING beats grabbing a bite to eat with old friends.

Happy Friday friends. Have a fun weekend!

  7. You're right - one day at a time. That has become my entire family's motto lately. It's perfect really because it allows you to be grateful and present in each and every day rather than worry about tomorrow. Although, let's be real - I still worry about tomorrow...haha! That family is absolutely gorgeous! My word. So are your photos, by the way. Definitely keeping you in mind for some things in the future.
