I'll be completely honest, my week has been a little too packed with running with my man and planning centerpieces with my grandma and watching Red's games to plan anything for this Thursday post. Until last night when Caleb said we received our FIRST RSVP CARDS!!!
Since we are having a buffet style dinner with more than one option; we decided that instead of having dinner options on our RSVP cards; we'd have a song request spot available... and it got me so giddy with excitement to see it filled out!
Excuse my baggy blue sweatpants, I need to be comfortable. |
So here's the deal...Caleb and I meet with our DJ towards the end of this month, and since I WISH you all could grace us with your presence at our wedding reception, I just can't afford all that ;) I know you each have that one song you're obsessed with and no matter when you hear it you just can't control those hips from twirkin'!
So hows-aaabout you leave me a song request in the comments with a song you LOVE to shake yo' thang too, cause I KNOW you have some in mind!
Ready? Set, GO...
Aww what a cute idea!! The first song that comes to my mind to jam to is Hilary Duff "What Dreams Are Made Of" :)
ReplyDeleteHaha- I never knew until last week that the song Stanky Leg existed... but in fact, it does. I'm a bridesmaid in May and I've told the bride that she MUST play Stanky Leg. Hilarity!
ReplyDeleteI mean, are we talking JAMS or are we talking romance? Cause this girl doesn't really do romance too well.
ReplyDeleteMy current jam is the Cruise remix with Florida Georgia Line and Nelly. I could see that being a hit at a wedding.
I just saw this idea for a wedding we're attending in a few weeks, and thought it was so fun! We're doing a small brunch reception, so no music list for us. But if I were filling out that RSVP card- I'd for sure be putting JT's "Suit and Tie" on it!
ReplyDeleteI love Take On Me by A-Ha!
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute idea for RSVP cards! The song I have to suggest is "Don't Stop Believing" by Journey. At every wedding I've gone too, when ever that song plays, people always sing along, jam out, and just have a good time dancing to it!
ReplyDelete- Carrie
I thought this was THE cutest idea. You know you're going to have to play Gangnam style. You have to!!
ReplyDeleteSomething that I've seen at a few weddings, is to ask a few close people what their first dance song was, and play it at your wedding and dedicate it tot hem so they can dance to it again. You should do that like for caleb's parents or something. Our playlist was mostly put together by my bro in law's partner....who just happened to love him some barbra streisand haha. But our first dance song was "You and I' by Michael Buble. Adele's one and only is perfect also for a nice slow dance.
ReplyDeleteMy friend did that on her RSVP cards too since at my wedding she was up requesting all sorts of songs (Boyfriend, Party Rock...i guess these were songs I danced too at my bach party haha!) I had the best DJ I could have ever asked for. One of the songs I requested was Scream by Usher and the only mistake he made was accidentally playing Yeah instead of Scream...let's just say there is a part of that song that is not family friendly...
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea Kayla. But you have to play my Ain't Going Down Till The Sun Comes Up. hehe. And for Buddy you should play Ole Time Rock and Roll by Bob Seger. Years ago that was his song to display his dancing skills for me. He loved to dance. Makes me laugh.
ReplyDeletesuch a cute rsvp card!!! i would say katy perry's last friday night, that always gets me dancing (well besides anything else)
ReplyDeleteOk, so I'm a HORRIBLE dancer, but every time "Call Me Maybe" comes on during my running playlist, I want to dance!
ReplyDeleteAhh! Wedding time = exciting time! You what song I think is hilarious? Lean Like a Chollo by Down AKA Kilo. So old.. but seriously. I cannot help myself.
ReplyDeleteHow cute Kayla! I would suggest the classic, "Cha Cha slide." We did a few of those to get everyone on the dance floor and they went over surprisingly well!
ReplyDeleteI do not have a shake yo thang song for ya but I do have a great wedding song!! We are using this for our unity candle and umm it gives me chills so what better than to share it with youuuuu! Jason Mraz I wont give up! :)
ReplyDeleteohh my gosh! I'm going to have to dig around in the archives for this one. I will admit that the older crowd loved Brickhouse that we played in honor of my dad and we danced to it like 3 times because they kept requesting it. hehehe I'll get back to you on this though! LOVE YOU pretty pretty bride to be!
ReplyDeleteThe wedding we went to this weekend played the Harlem Shake and the DJ made a video. He started with just the couple, then the groomsmen joined in, then the rest of the guests. It was so much fun. I was tackled by a groomsmen and broke my bracelet, but it was worth it.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite song played at ours was "don't stop believing" - any journey song, really! And copperhead road because every TX wedding has to have a good line dance :)
ReplyDelete"More Than A Feeling" by Boston
ReplyDeletePleaseeee tell me there will be some of Miss Shania Twain at your wedding. You better be serenading your new hubby to Any Man of Mine :D
