Jam packed weekend!

How come Friday takes ages to get here and then the weekend goes by like THAT!? I just don't understand this. Whoever had the bright idea of making work weeks five whole days long, and weekends only two, was just outrageous.

Anyway, where do I start!? I think we crammed in more than ever before. Friday night Caleb's mom came into town to close on their home here in Cincinnati and wanted to treat us to dinner. We decided to go to Mimi's Cafe (Cincinnati/Columbus locals -- GO! It's delicious!!), as this is where our rehearsal dinner will be. So, we ate our delicious dinner (gigantic burger for me!) and then picked out our menu options for the night before the wedding...let me tell you, its going to be AMAZING.

Then we ended early enough and his mom had an idea to go see a movie. You know Caleb and I have been dying to see 42, but it wasn't on until really late so we went with that cute cavemen movie called "The Croods" - OMG, so good. Seriously, super family friendly, I laughed, and cried. Highly recommended!

Don't you love cell phone quality pictures in bad lighting?
Saturday morning came and I was so excited for Caleb's date he had planned for us; "All Things Cincinnati"! He treated me to Skyline Chili (our fav!) and a Red's game at the stadium downtown!

It was only 54 degrees, so did we think of putting on sunscreen? Nope.
Did we get sunburnt? Yep.

Then we went back to the apartment and relaxed for a couple hours. My cousin's wife was throwing him a surprise 30th birthday so you nkow we had to make an appearance. He is a HUGE Notre Dame football fan  (gag), but I must say... the cake was IMPRESSIVE!

He was super surprised and the party turned out great. I got to introduce Caleb to a lot of people he's never met before, so that was awesome! There was a DJ and everything! It couldn't have been more fun!

Sunday came, and we went to church like usual... and then some of our good friends Josh & Marie asked us to lunch at a local burger joint, their adorable daughter Nora of course was there. She was the high light of my week. That little girl has Caleb and I wrapped around her finger!

Then we went back to the apartment until it was time to head back to church to hang with the youth group. It was all fun and games until someone sat on my thumb during an intense game of what could be compared to as musical chairs. It took all I had not to cry like a child and run out of the room... lets juts say I can barely move it today. I'm praying it feels better so I can do daily tasks like normal again...makes me thankful for my fingers!

The night turned up though when Caleb turned on New Girl, and then a Modern Family re run after...and we literally BOTH laughed so hard we cried. Season 4, episode 3... watch it. Watch it now ;)

Hope everyone had a blast of a weekend.

Linking up with the beautiful Sami, as always!

This is just the first half

Can you believe I had six straight days off work?! I mean, I can't. Today is the sixth day, and I am going bridesmaid dress shopping with two of my ladies to find what makes them look their best.. and lets get real, either of them could wear an old rag and make it work beautifully ;) but, backing up on the first three days of my mini fun filled 6 day break from work.

Caleb and I left our town to head for Columbus to hang out with some awesome friends from college and eat way too much food.

This is me all "first day off work, wooo!"
Caleb and our friend (and a soon-to-be father!) Pat!

We played a little white elephant game, which turned into an hour of cracking up with these hilarious boys.

Yes, I ended up with the awesome Doodie Darts...
The gorgeous gal in red and black is the wife of the soon-to-be daddy. She is 12 weeks! Eek!

Again, my man cleans up awfully well. and goodness he is handsome. After a fun evening there, we had a super fun evening planned with Caleb's brother/sister in law and we caroled at his mamaw's house first. She is so precious, is she not?

& after this we headed out to a local church's annual play called "Awaited", and we had a blast with them. Obviously!

I think the volunteer from the staff that volunteered to take this picture had never held a camera in his life. Bless his heart. So, we had to B&W this one!

excuse the mop on my head, girl needs a hair cut ;)
& last but not least... we celebrated Christmas a little early with Caleb's immediate side of the family. It was a blast, to say the least.

Cute Erin, ya'll know heerrr ;) we decided this weekend we only say ya'll when we mean serious business. & this girl is seriously awesome.

Its called superstition, and it works. & yes, they all yelled at me for almost not putting my hands up in time.
The Bengals were playing in Pittsburgh this weekend, and the game was a call-filled stressful few hours. Good thing we pulled out a WIN!!

Sorry (that I am not sorry) for the picture overload, and not so many words. I haven't taken this many shots in 19 years. ;) so, deal! Hope you all had the BEST Christmas ever, and don't forget the real reason for the season.

I'll be back again with the second half of my awesome 6-day work break.

Merry Christmas from us, to you :)

So, about last night.

Let me just tell you about last night. For those of you who don't follow me on twitter (shame on you)... (totally kidding), I talked about how Caleb and I were getting "wined and dined" by a co-worker, literally.

One of my very generous co-workers pulls together this annual outing just for fun for our entire firm and whoever wants to bring their "plus ones", for a fancy dinner and a musical afterward. On last nights agenda was Nicholson's, the first pub in Cincinnati.

Lets talk about the menu, I tried new things, and loved it all!

That, my friends, is called a Scotch Egg.. basically a hard-boiled egg, deep fried and wrapped in sausage. Don't worry, I only had half off an egg. My arteries are clogging just thinking about it. I also had a small side of lobster mac-n-cheese, OMG. Sooo yummy. For my actual meal I had a pulled pork sandwich, its like my go-to when I don't know what else to order.

After the yummy dinner, we walked across the street to the Aronoff Center, its beautiful. I don't know that I've been in years.

We saw the musical Jersey Boys. It was so much fun!! I really enjoyed it, and I think Caleb did too, for not being an "artsy" person. He'd probably much more enjoy Disney on Ice, and lets be real.. who wouldn't?! ;) Now for the ONLY picture we got of ourselves that night.. please excuse the terrible quality.

Hope you all have a fabulous Wednesday!! Have you been to a musical lately? What's your favorite?? I need some recommendations, ladies!!
