It's already Halloween?!

Happy Friday!!!! How is it that the weeks you only work 4 days, end up feeling like you worked 6?? It blows my mind - but somehow we made it. I am so excited to get this weekend started!! Although we don't have a wedding to photograph, our schedules are as packed as possible with friends and family, and I really wouldn't have it any other way. Tonight, its my (baby) brother's Senior Night at his school. He's the Captain of the Drum Line and let me tell you, he rocks! I don't just say that because I'm his big sister. It's a little emotional for me to realize in a few short months, he'll be graduating high school and moving on!

I'm also really excited to spend some time with my family tonight. I don't get to see them often anymore with my crazy schedule so I'm looking forward to catching up with them, and just spending quality time together. As we all get older, it gets harder to continue seeing each other as often as we'd all like, but that's alright. I always know they are just a phone call away.
throwback to last years games!

I'm looking forward to watching my brothers speech, watching him walk the field, and playing the heck out of those drums at halftime! Love you, bro! ;)

Tomorrow, I'm finally getting my hair done, swinging by a birthday party, then Caleb and I have a fun evening planned with Erin and Jared! I'm still not entirely sure what the heck I'll dress up as when we pass out candy (and play Wii games all night), but I'm hoping to whip something up last minute. This happens every year, I say "I'm going to figure it out early!" and then I'm panicking in the overpriced Halloween stores on October 31st looking for a deal, ha! Here's a throwback to last years Halloween when we scored these costumes for crazy cheap (the day of the party)!
Rick Grimes never looked so good.
Last night though, Caleb and I got home from work and got a spontaneous invitation to grab dinner with some of our friends, Josh and Marie! You might recognize Nora from random posts, because she's one of our favorite little girls on the planet. Her baby sister, Charlotte, just turned 1! They were nice enough to invite us out for their family dinner, so we accepted and stuffed ourselves silly with pasta! Sure, we had obligations (editing, laundry, cleaning the house), but as Caleb put it "memories with friends are more important than laundry" -- I love that man!

I hope everyone has a fun, semi spooky weekend ahead! ;)

This town ain't big enough for the both of us...

Our weekend was amazing. It started at Erin and Jared's with a fun celebration for Caleb's birthday. Complete with a poster size card, too much dancing (is there such a thing?!) and pounds of food. They always throw the best little hangouts and we're so thankful for all the hilarious memories we made!

The next morning we watched my brother tear it up at his band competition...oh, did I forget to mention it was SNOWING?!?! Yeah...well, just flurries, but still. I'm thinking this is going to be one cold, long winter ahead of us! After that, we were off to put our costumes together. I got very lucky with this find (and since we waited to buy until Nov 1st, it was on super sale!), and Caleb found himself a Walking Dead costume, and he completed a little DIY at home with spray blood + Meijer bought toy gun.

Meet Jessie, and Sheriff Rick Grimes.

Caleb looks pretty legit in this next photo.

Erin and Jared got pretty crazy with their costumes, too! Meet Zurg and Cruella Deville!

The night was a blast, seeing lots of Caleb's side of the family that we don't get to see very often, eating delicious food and enjoying some hilarious games. Oh, and snuggling an adorable little baby (complete with a mustache)!!

& guess who won "Best Costume" of the night? That's right...my husb....er, Rick Grimes!!!!

We had a ton of fun, and were seriously so worn out by about 8:00PM. File that under #whenyouknowyouregettingold.

Sunday was spent alone. Caleb was at the Bengals game downtown all day, while I hibernated on our couch... and by hibernating I mean drowning in beautiful edits all day. How was your Halloween weekend?

Halloween - flashback style!

Happy Halloween!! I so wish I worked in an office that would allow us to get a little crazy on Halloween. I'd so wear a costume, but nope, they are boring! So I'm really looking forward to this entire weekends. Guys, its a FREE WEEKEND! These don't happen often but my 2014 weddings are coming to a close...we have 3 left in the year. So, I plan on really enjoying this costume filled weekend.

Tonight, we're hanging out with our best friends, having ourselves a random dance party, and probably watching a scary movie or two while binging on candy ;) then tomorrow evening we have caleb's cousins annual Halloween bash. It was a sad day last year when we couldn't go, so we're MORE than thrilled that we're able to attend this year...they seriously go ALL OUT. I'm talking, coffins around their house, fog machines, portable heaters, bon fire, insanely creative Halloween themed snacks, etc. It's awesome! We've got a few ideas for our costume and we'll be solidifying them tomorrow afternoon (yeah, we procrastinated).

Since its Halloween, just wanted to throw a few fun photos up from Halloween's past. It's crazy to see how much Caleb and I have changed! You're never too old to dress up for a fun Holiday, am I right!?!

2012: Batman and Robin.

See what I mean with the creative (and delicious) snacks?!

2011: Superman and Captain America (yeah, we had a superhero kick, what can we say?! & yes, those are mens briefs.... we won't talk about it)

2010: Pinball and flapper.
Erin and Jared had the best costumes that year!

Goodness, we've changed a lot! I love looking back and seeing how we've grown together. We've had so much fun over the years with his family at Halloween and this year is no exception. Bring it on.

oh, and HAPPY HALLOWEEN! Any creative costume's for you guys this year?!

Flappers, pirates, heroes, oh my!

Ahh Halloween is almost upon us.

Lets take a look back at past Halloween's since 2009...because before that everything was just a hot mess in my life. 2009 = Caleb and I started dating. AKA -  Caleb is the glue in my life.

For some reason we thought it was a great idea to go as Dave Thomas and Wendy. We realized too late that we were playing father-daughter...that's not creepy, right? This meant I basically had to find a rag doll costume and de-sluttify it. Add some white and red striped leggings under that skirt? Voila!
Caleb also saw it fit to spray paint his entire head of hair, and facial hair white... let me tell you, it took like a week to come out.

The next year, 2010, I borrowed a costume from a friend of a friend and went as a flapper. For some odd reason...Caleb went as a bowling ball. He tried desperately to make me go as a bowling pin. No thanks, babe.

Also see below, Jared and Erin win best costume EVAAA!

Can someone please tell Caleb those look like boobs...not eyes.

The next year, 2011...Caleb and I got kind of creative on a budget.

Yes, those are Mens boxers from Walmart, but they were $5 and Caleb made that impressive "shield" from cardboard. We win! ;)

Erin...er, Cleopatra, and I!

On ACTUAL Halloween, I helped Caleb's family pass out candy...and threw on a witch hat. Totally a costume, right?!

& this was last year... 2012. Caleb and I hadn't thought about our costume basically until the day of. So, what did we do? Headed to Walmart, Spencers, etc...and made us some new superhero costumes...AGAIN.

Batman and Robin, y'all.

Freaky thing is...dude totally sounds like batman when he tries.

& there's Jared and Erin, the pirates!

& we usually end the night with glow sticks...its kind of our thing!

I hope everyone has a safe Halloween next week!
