Work, relax, play, repeat.

This past weekend went way too quickly. Isn't that how they all go?! We had ourselves a pretty eventful weekend, and they always say - time flies when you're having fun. So, I can't complain!

Before I left work Friday, Caleb had convinced me that we were going to treat ourselves to some Chinese take out since we'd been pretty good all week... so of course, my mind was dead set on getting my crab rangoon. So when I come home and see seasoned chicken ready for the grill, I quickly realized he had sabotaged our cheat-night and was going full blown healthy on me with a grilled chicken salad. I have to say, I was temporarily bummed because my heart was set on take-out, but man this salad was delish and I'm glad he made that healthy decision for us! We stayed in and relaxed the entire evening with a movie night.

Saturday was one of the earlier days we'd have to work this year, and one of the longest, but man was it awesome. We were pretty nervous because we woke up to our phones blasting an "Emergency Flash Flood Warning", which is never something you want to hear right before you photograph a wedding! I prayed and prayed and crossed all my fingers and toes that it would turn into a beautiful day, and you guys, it totally did! Andrew & Elisa were just so excited to get married and finally see each other, they weren't concerned with the weather at all. It reminded me that regardless of what the weather will do or what hiccups may arise, when you have two people who love each other that much, nothing else matters!

PS you're going to lose it when you see his reaction to her walking down the aisle (even after a first look prior). I MAY have cried, too.

It was a crazy long day and even with a slight migraine that I got halfway through, it was totally worth it when I saw a text from Elisa come through the day after with nothing but amazing things to say. Those day-after thank you's will NEVER get old! They truly keep us going, some days!

Sunday was seriously jam packed, but seriously awesome. We had a great morning at church, and a productive afternoon (groceries, Caleb's haircut, ran some errands) before a fun evening out with some people from church. We bought tickets nearly two months ago for The Outcry Tour (a concert put on by Elevation Worship, Lauren Daigle, Jesus Culture and one of my favorite pastors/speakers; Steven Furtick)! We stopped at Eli's BBQ (local friends: it was SO GOOD!!!) for dinner before hand!

The concert was incredible. It's so amazing to be in a room with thousands of believers, worshipping our great God. There were many points of the night I was in tears, just so overwhelmed! The evening did not disappoint and we all had such a great time. The late bedtime is rough on me this Monday morning, but I've got coffee in hand so I can tackle it.

Hope you had a great weekend, too! Tell me about it!

A long awaited birthday present!

My husband wins for most awesome present giver. I don't know about you guys, but Caleb and I would much rather spend our money on experiences rather than a physical item (most of the time). If you follow me on instagram, you already know what we were up to Tuesday night!

So, my man told me what my birthday present was on valentines day. VALENTINES DAY!! That's how long he's had this planned... I can't say I'm surprised. He and I are both obsessed with One Republic, as well as The Script, so it was just the perfect gift. Time came and went, and it was here before we knew it.

The Script played for a good hour, I mean...they are a headliner band most of the time, so I was so excited. They were such amazing entertainers, and you could just tell they were so humbled by all the fans supporting them. Their originally from Dublin, Ireland...so they have some pretty sweet accents, too!

Then One Republic came on. EEK! I can't even tell you how awesome it was. I love when a band introduces themselves (even though we obviously already know who they are) and talk to the crowd, instead of ONLY singing.

If you read Monday's post, I talked about how I'd probably freak outtttt if they played the song Caleb sang to me at our wedding. Well guess what? THEY DID. Would you judge me if I said I cried for the first full minute...because that definitely happened. It seriously just brought back so many emotions from the happiest day of our lives and I wasn't gonna be sorry about it ;) ... they played every favorite of mine, some old stuff, and even a few covers (that they obviously rocked at), and I was pretty much in heaven the entire time. Waving my hands around, jumping like crazy, and just not having a care in the world how silly I looked.

One Republic sang for nearly two hours. I couldn't believe it! Ryan Tedder's voice is insane...Caleb and I practically had no voice after the concert was over!
Yummy grease face after 4 hours of concerts!
I truly don't have many words for it...the whole night was just incredible. My husband does such a wonderful job at making me feel special. The night before, he surprised me with a "birthday week kick off" present...

Some women might be offended "oh, your husband got you a fitness magazine subscription?", well heck yes he did. He is my biggest motivator, and in NO way thinks I need to "shape up", just knows that I want to be a better, more healthy version of myself, so this gift had me all over the place with excitement!

My actual birthday is Saturday, and I'm working, so it means a lot that Caleb (and some awesome friends) have helped me celebrate all week long! I'm so lucky.

PS - today is my blogs birthday! My Kind of Yellow turns TWO! Yay!

glitter all over the room...

What am I thinking about today? Well.... if you must know.

Girl crush at its finest.
Remember that time my girl Erin got me amazing tickets to see our biggest girl crush ever Katy Perry?! Oh wait... you don't, because that is before I blogged when I was still a loser ;) so let me show you JUST how much fun we had that night. It was kiiiind of one of the best nights of my life.

My gorgeous SIL-to-be.
You know we had to rock the pink lipstick and matching WE LOVE KATY shirts. Duhhh.
We were pre-gaming it by going to the outside party the venue was holding...and guess who won a FREE t-shirt?
THIS GIRL.

Then we pretended to be Katy for a second...

So we get inside... and oh my wooorrddd. We were CLOSE.

Then she came on stage... ahhh. It was like the best concert I'd ever been too. I really will never forget this night. We may or may not have known EVERY word to every song she sang...and not only did she sound amazing, she put on a SHOW. It was pure entertainment... hilarious, sexy, and nerdy. What more can ya want?!

Brownie points if you can name this song.

She definitely looked down at us and for a moment... we became her best friends
;) promise.

We danced the entire night, lost our voices, and had the time of our lives. Literally.

She shot whipped cream from a candy cane gun...

and then ended the night with the sweetest freaking confetti drop this worlds ever seen.

Ahhh the memories. I so want to go back. Erin and I had vowed that when she comes back to Ohio we are splurging and buying our freaking selves a meet and greet backstage pass & not thinking twice!

You ALSO know we went together to see her movie... um. Please tell me you've all seen it? Its so good... we laughed, cried, and sang along.

Happy thursday friends... hope you enjoyed this "throwback" edition ;)
TOMORRROW IS FRIDAY!!! Where has this week gone?!
Do I say that every week??
