Celebrating three years!

Tuesday (the night before our anniversary) when Caleb fell asleep, I snuck to the bathroom to write him a lipstick letter on the bathroom mirror so that would be the first thing he saw on our anniversary! I thought it was a cute idea and something he'd appreciate. One thing that hadn't crossed my mind is that it might scare him at the early hour of 5:00 am - which is exactly what happened, ha! I should've thought that one through, big red letters all over our bathroom probably wasn't the most romantic thing - we've just seen too many horror flicks! ;)

Wednesday night Caleb and I celebrated our anniversary together!

We got home from work and exchanged some gifts. The traditional gift for year 3 is leather, and although we haven't intentionally followed it in the past, I wanted to give it a try! He's been talking about getting a new basketball for weeks and, with a little help from my brother in law, Jared, we found him the perfect one! I also snagged a couple of  Golden State Warriors playoff t-shirts! Sadly in this point of the playoffs things weren't looking good, they were down 3-1. This meant they had to win the next 3 games to advance, and thankfully, that's just what they did over the course of the last few days! WOO!

Caleb made me the most amazing photo book, including the lyrics of the song he sang me on our wedding day! My other gifts came over the series of the next few days, and I must say he did an amazing job!! These gifts included an adorable pineapple print, a summer scarf and THE CUTEST YELLOW MAXI SKIRT in all of the land! He saw me oogling over this one and found one just like it and made me the happiest yellow-lovin twenty something there ever was!

He always does such a great job on gifts. I never ask for anything in particular -neither of us ever do - yet he always does an incredible job of picking things/experiences that I'll love!

We hit the road to head to our favorite Mexican restaurant and when we got home we decided to keep it low key by relaxing on the couch. We knew we had a long weekend ahead of us where we could go out and about, so we wanted to keep our actual anni low key!

So thankful for a man who constantly pursues me, loves me, and makes me laugh! I love you, Caleb!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Our long, celebratory weekend!

We started the celebrations for Caleb's birthday a few days early on Friday evening with our best friends and our favorite Mexican restaurant... win, win. We stayed over way too late playing hilarious Wii games and watching an insanely creepy movie. I still can't sleep without thinking of it (we watched The Visit)!

Saturday we had a great wedding day with Sarah and Ryan - despite the annoying rain they had a great attitude. We managed to sneak outside for a few photos, and luckily, their venue was perfect for indoor photos - lots of natural light! I weirdly love rainy, Fall days! These leaves made my day.

Sunday we woke up and hit the road to begin celebrating my man's 27th birthday! I had a few plans for his 2 day celebration but for the most part, we wanted to wing it. I wanted him to do whatever he wanted. So his first choice was a card show - and he was really excited when I bought my first autographed card!

Then we literally flopped and watched football ALL. STINKIN. DAY. It rocked! That evening we grabbed dinner and spent more time lounging. I woke up in the middle of the night on Monday and hung up some decorations so when he woke up he would be surprised. Don't judge the fact that I got most of the decorations in the kids-party section. #nevergrowup! I gave him 3 options when he woke up on how to celebrate his day, and he chose a mini trip to the outlets! To be honest, he didn't find much, but we did finish a TON of Christmas shopping, which felt great!
This is his happy place; THE DISNEY STORE!!
His main gift from me though was some Bengals gear that I knew he'd love - which he did! He hasn't taken his vintage looking winter hat off since he opened the bag ;) later, we initially had plans to get dinner and a movie, but he changed his mind and wanted a night in - with a catch! I had to cook a homemade meal; stuffed shells. They turned out delish! We finished the day with a movie at home, and a long night of chatting. It was honestly perfect. It was nothing crazy, out of the ordinary, etc. but we had a blast, because we were together.

I'll always love that about Caleb. He can turn something as simple as a taco bell run, into an adventure. I'm lucky he's mine. It was so fun to have the day off for his birthday. I wish it was something that everyone could do - take off for their birthdays. It should really be a free day off for everyone! I love you, Caleb! I hope your 27th was the best yet!!!

I hope everyone had a great weekend! & hey, we're halfway through the work week now! Enjoy!!

Caleb's (kind of) surprise!

Happy Halloween!!! It's so weird that I have no costume, and have no orange on today. My cute orange tank I had planned on wearing got thrown in the wrong pile and was all dirty and wrinkly (grouch), so I have on black and white... woops!

Anyway! As I said yesterday, I had another surprise waiting for Caleb once we arrived home. He just didn't know it yet.

Long story short... it didn't turn out how I planned. It was hard enough stalling all day to be sure we didn't get home any earlier than 5! .I may or may not have made Caleb stop at a Walmart cause I was "feeling sick"... anyyyyway!

This is where it gets tricky. Well, not really...when we got home, some of his friends were running late and weren't in our apartment yet. Well, a few seconds went by, and Caleb saw them outside. He was SO confused, so it was still fun to see his reaction to that...it just wasn't the "surprise" I'd originally hoped for. Either way, it was a blast and I knew we had a night full of fun with all his old college friends waiting for us upstairs. He was so thrilled and just spent a few minutes outside with me thanking me for everything I'd done so far. He just couldn't believe it!

So, upstairs we went.

Made by my Erin!

As cheesy as it sounds, after the cake was cut...we all went around and introduced ourselves and said a few fun memories about Caleb. It started some interesting conversation, that is for sure!

This is probably my favorite picture of the night. I can just tell how much fun Caleb was having. Surrounded by his old friends.

Boys will be boys.

HUGE congrats to Rich and Amber!! They just got engaged last week, and he has asked Caleb to be in the wedding next October! Ahh I love fall weddings.

Also a MAJOR thank youuu to my soulmate, without her I could not have done ANY of this. I gave her my key, the supplies and a "good luck!" and she set EVERYTHING up the day of. She also made an incredible cheeseball (rolled in Caleb's favorite, Doritos!) and a delicious pasta salad that I may or may not have inhaled. Okay, I did.

Sibling looove :)

The wives! These are some seriously great ladies I'm so happy to know!

After nearly 5 hours of hanging out, our friends started to head home. Oh, did i mention MOST  of them drove over an hour and a half to help celebrate? We have some great people in our lives, I'll tell ya.

Shortly after most everyone had left, I gave Caleb his actual present -- an orange and grey Under Armour hoodie. He hasn't really taken it off since... :) I think he likes it?

To say Caleb's birthday weekend was a blast would be an understatement. I'm so happy he had a great weekend!! He's the best husband ever and so good to me on a daily basis, that I wanted to be sure he had a weekend worth remembering!
Hope it was great Caleb, you're amazing!

PS - although its Halloween, we are not passing out candy. First, we live in an apartment complex (do people even do that?!). Second, we are hitting up the gym after work, and spending the evening at my grandparents (bro/sis in law to join us!) and hopefullllyy by the end of the night? We'll be celebrating a Bengals W!

CELEBRAAATEE GOOD TIMES

Want to know why I was so stinkin' giddy yesterday at work? Hmm... maybe because I GOT AN OFFER!

That is right... for those of you who don't know, I've been working at a Financial Firm since February as a temp. Back in April they asked me to stay for a few months for 40 hours a week until about August. Well, August came and went... & I waited, and waited, and waited.

Everyday when I'd talk to Caleb he would ask "did you ask them yet?!" and I would do the walk of shame... telling him "no, I just couldn't". See, if you know anything about me... I hate confrontation. I mean, HATE it. I'd do almost anything to avoid it. But in this case, I had every right to know where my job was headed. I mean, I'm going to be a married woman after all. We all know that stability is a NEED!

So, I finally mustered up the courage to walk into the big guys office; ask him for the job that everyone knew I deserved, and guess what? After a simple 7 minute meeting; I had a job. Like, a real... full time... salary paid... FREAKIN J-O-B!!!

I ran to the bathroom I was so excited! I took a few pictures of myself (above), did a happy dance in front of the mirror, and said "you go, girl". Immediately I told my best friends and when I came back to my desk; there was a pretty little "Official Offer Letter" laying on my keyboard. EEEK!

God is so good. I mean, really. So.. you know Caleb and I had to celebrate! After convincing Caleb, we decided --screw our low carb kick... we're getting Mexican...deep fried Mexican at that

Even better? I lost 5 pounds this week. Yeah, we're getting personal bloggers. Deal ;)

AHHHH... I think this new "official" job means some new clothes?
