Weekend happiness!

I definitely did not anticipate running over a huge bolt on my way home Friday and needing my tire changed on the side of the highway. I have never experienced a flat tire like that and man, it was pretty scary! It felt like my entire car was falling apart! Thank goodness for in-laws with AAA who are willing to help! After all was said and done, I did need a new tire but it wasn't as costly as I assumed it would be, and we were home before 7pm. So the night wasn't a total loss.

Saturday we were lucky enough to have the day together free of work, so we booked a quick family session with someone from church and then hit up a couple yard sales. Just before we picked up my car (seriously, Tire Discounters rocks, they had it done so fast!), we stopped by our towns local farmers market and grabbed the yummiest zucchini + pineapple bread. So tasty!

The rest of our day was basically spent editing, signing a new (and shorter - yay) lease on our place, rearranging the furniture because we can, and just spending time together. It was not our usual Saturday, and we loved EVERY SECOND of it!

We also had a chance to swing by Kroger to pick up a few things. Essentials, really ;) a fantasy football magazine to do some research for the draft we had on Sunday through church and Halo Top ice cream I've heard so much about.

I thought it was some sort of sick joke, that you could find ice cream that claims to only have THAT many calories per pint AND still taste like ice cream...but its true!!! It's amazing. So so delicious, and still only $3.99/pint. NO I'm not being paid to talk about it, it's just that stinkin amazing. Get ya some!

Sunday was a busy day but one well spent with our church family. From the service (full of 6 baptisms, yay!), to our church fantasy football league, to youth group that evening! It was definitely jam-packed, but a day that I loved!

As for our weekly goal this work-week, its my turn to pick! I'd like to make sure that Caleb and I are praying together every single night. Prayer is huge to us and with obligations and appointments that get in the way, its easy to forget to do together. So this week I am making it a priority!

Hope everyone had a fun weekend!

  2. Flat tires suck. I'm glad you were able to get it fixed! Not that I'm sticking to it super strict anyway, but as soon as Whole30 is over I'm buying a pint of that Halo Top.

  5. Glad to hear that your scary tire situation was dealt with quickly and relatively painlessly. Don't you hate that random, unexpected things can throw a wrench in your plans? Whoa - I've never heard of that ice cream, but I'm TOTALLY on board. I'll have to check that out ASAP.

  10. I have seen that ice cream all over instagram the last week or so, I'm going to have to get some! That's a bummer about your car! I ran over a pipe that had fallen off a truck on the highway once. It was bouncing all over the highway and I pulled over right away and luckily a very nice Pennsylvania state trooper pulled over and changed my tire for me! I was so thankful for him!

  13. Flat tires are the worst!! I've heard about Halo, but I assumed it was $10/pint so I haven't even tried to look for it. But $3.99?! You just changed my life.

  14. I keep hearing about that ice cream! I think I need to try it ASAP.

Yum, zucchini bread! I'm making some tomorrow (with chocolate chips) for the first time. I got the recipe from a coworker so I hope it comes out as good as hers!
