This weekend consisted of not putting my camera down - and I kind of loved it. Even though that basically meant working 7 days last week, it was still awesome.
We had a very low-key wedding to photograph on Saturday. It was a great time, they even had Ben & Jerry's deliver! On Sunday I had a family session, then an all-day senior session after that with one of my favorite ladies! Weddings are definitely our "specialty" but I am becoming a huge fan of lifestyle senior photography. Really showcasing these kids and letting their personalities shine...being outdoors, hitting up their favorite coffee spot, and just having a great time!
That evening our church had an "end of summer hangout" potluck event so she and I hit pause on the senior session, enjoyed dinner and company with everyone, and then when the sun started to set she and I snuck off to finish up her session! It was amazing. Isn't she stunning?! The glow of sunset is absolutely my favorite time to shoot.
Caleb and I have a mostly free week ahead of us, and we plan to spend it at home, catching up on life and just spending time together. We're so excited!
Speaking of Caleb, it was his turn to choose our weekly goal this week, and he landed on no junk food. Easier said than done, but I think I can do it! Today through Friday, no junk food. It's only 5 days, how hard can it be?! ;)
I hope you got into something fun over the weekend!
Good luck with the no junk food goal - that is something I need to do, too! The lighting in that picture is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteYou can do it with the no junk food! It gives you something to look forward to on a cheat day. ;)
ReplyDeleteOh gosh - just take me back to 2005 with those Senior photos, will ya! I remember how excited I was to play model for a day. I'm always envious of your photography skills!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the no junk food! You got this! Love the preview of the senior pics.
ReplyDeleteGood luck on the no junk food. I gotta have chips for a crunch at lunch ;)
ReplyDeleteWhat are senior photos? I'm from New England and we only had our professional yearbook photo in the cap and gown, everyone's was the same. Do these portraits go in the yearbook instead? They're beautiful, I wish I had photos like that instead of the black & white "cookie cutter" style!
ReplyDeleteAs soon as I make a resolution that is food related, I instantly regret it and fail miserably. May you fare better than I, my friend ;)
ReplyDeleteBen and Jerry's at a wedding reception? Heck. Yes! ;) Greta is such a beauty- great pics of her!
ReplyDeleteI am so good at eating well during the day, but the second the sun starts going down, I crave EVERYTHING. Every night. It's so hard!
ReplyDeleteIce cream delivered to a wedding -yes please!! So glad you had a fun weekend - it doesn't feel like work when you are having fun! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston
ReplyDeleteNo junk food... can you share with me what you snack on? Snacks are a huge issue for me because I feel like only less than good food is an option.
ReplyDeleteso you guys take turns choosing a weekly goal? that sounds fun!
ReplyDeleteHope your no junk food goal is going well. You're half way there! You take beautiful photographs Kayla. :)
ReplyDeleteMight depend on how you're defining junk food. ;-)
