Heartbroken. Emotional. Confused. Those are three little words that described me on Saturday night, and nearly all of yesterday. My Bengals were defeated in the playoff game against the Steelers at home, but I'm sure you already knew that, unless you aren't into sports or have been living under a rock.
The emotional roller coaster that was the second half of that game was just crazy. I cried real tears of joy and sadness all within ten minutes. Its games like that that make it hard to be such an invested fan of any team. The truth is - the game just didn't end the way we wanted it. I could go on for a while about it, but I won't! We sulked and complained all the way home, and a little bit of yesterday, but I'm quickly reminded that although the loss hurt (bad), life still goes on...
...and I still have the same adorable, football loving husband, and we made a lot of fun memories together at the stadium Saturday night...
Other than going to the game, we cleaned our entire place this weekend - and finally put away all the christmas decorations! Our living room seems so much more open without that tree! I'm also happy to report I've now worked out 3 days in a row. I'm truly trying to make this new year a healthier one. I officially took my "before" photos, and I believe doing that was a pretty big motivator for me!
It also snowed last night, and my windshield wiper SNAPPED off my car from being so frozen, so we skipped youth group and made a trip to Walmart so I can safely drive to work this week! ;) Although its freezing, the first snowfall was beautiful!
I hope everyone has a great week!
I'm so sorry for the Bengals loss - no fun at all! Yay for snow! It's pretty cold here for Florida, but no snow for us. Ha!
ReplyDeleteAw, sorry for the Bengals loss! At least you had fun with your husband, though- that's what matters in the end :)
ReplyDeleteI thought of you and Erin. I even had a WHODEY tweet ready to send to you two and Pamela and then the refs and the 4th quarter implosion. Glad you are able to drive safe now, crazy what the cold can do.
ReplyDeleteI was pulling for them. Mostly for selfish reasons, because I'd have rather had my Chiefs play the Broncos than the patriots. Either way, I'm sorry. Football - it'll break your heart.
ReplyDeleteWe were at BWW watching the game, and I thought of you and wondered if you were there! It was just one of those games. So sorry they lost!
ReplyDeleteThe Bengals game was SO unbelievably difficult to comprehend for me as well. So darn frustrating on SO many levels, but I'm glad to hear that you were able to make great memories all season! :) Love your positive outlook!
ReplyDeleteMost painful end to a game. Ever. I cant' believe you were there for it! What an emotional whirlwind.
ReplyDeleteI watched the last ten minutes of the game after work and just so many emotions I don't even know how to properly put them into words. I was so excited for them and then just devastated. But like yo said, life goes on, there's always next year :)
ReplyDeleteI saw that ending and our game night group doesn't agree with the calls but obviously the refs are who they are. Maybe next year!
ReplyDeleteThe lose sucks, buuuuuut that picture y'all got is TOO CUTE. Success! ;)
ReplyDeleteSorry that it was so painful girl - I didn't really care either way but it was crazy! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston
ReplyDeleteGirl I feel you & I'm so sorry for your team's loss. I went from not thinking the Vikings stood a chance at all, to thinking we had it in the bag, to thinking we would lose, to thinking Blair Walsh would save us, to cussing like a sailor.
ReplyDeleteHoly cow, I can't believe your wiper snapped like that! Winter definitely came at us hardcore! lol
ReplyDeleteah i'm sorry your team lost girl! that's crazy about your wiper, i am terrified of using mine when it's been snowing or whatever. and yay for before photos! they are super motivating :) good luck!
ReplyDeletei'm sad.
ReplyDeletebut hey...
forever a fan <3
