I am beyond excited about this link up that my SIL and Kristin are doing...called 4 weeks fit. When Erin told me about this link-up a couple weeks ago, I was so nervous...what the heck would my goals be?! What if I don't accomplish them!? Then I remembered how awesome and supportive this blog community is...and I WILL meet my goals!
I thought going through the HUNDREDS of fitness related pictures I've taken since we joined our gym last fall would be fun to look back on. I have to say, that is what absolutely changed my life. I used to be so active in high school, then not so much in college, then went back at it a little before our wedding...but joining that gym really made this time feel like it was a LIFESTYLE change. Which is exactly what I want it to be.
Run 50+ miles total this month.
Even typing that out terrifies me... I mean, the most I've ever run in a month was 40 miles total (and that was LAST April), and it nearly killed me. But then miss Anna told me she just had her first 100 mile month, which made me think she's an actual psychopath, but also motivated the crap out of me!!
Wake up before work 2x/week to exercise.
I used to do this a lot during the Winter, but have only done it once recently. It makes me so happy knowing I have my work out done with before my day really starts, and that means I get more time w/ my man at home after work...which makes us both happy!
Finish a half marathon.
Erin and I signed up for our first half marathon back in September, so we had plenty of time to train. Perhaps, too much time? We both really slacked off in the second half of our training and are probably not going to be able to run the whole thing, but you know what? That's alright. She's one of my best friends, and I plan to have a blast with her and our husbands and cross that finish line together. Life is all about having fun, and who better to spend your first half with than the people you love most?!
I'm so excited to try these goals out, and report back on May 30th how great I know we all did!!!! Who's with us!?
You have so many good goals! I like the four week challenge because it seems really manageable. I would like to start working out for at least 30 minutes a day 6x/week. I can't start quite yet because I have a race on Saturday, but I'm going to start on Monday!
ReplyDeleteYes it's definitely manageable :) that's such a great goal!! You're going to do do awesome. I love seeing everyone's goals!
DeleteYou will be amazing at this!!!! 50MILES??? OMG...My running goal is like 10 miles....(in 5 different increments) hahaha! (I gotta start somewhere!!) Good luck lady!!
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome, and I just might join you! :) I think not running the whole thing is totally fine. I started the Couch 2 5k app about 6 weeks ago, and I'm still only on week 4 (have still been working out in between my running "rests"). I think I pushed it too hard in the beginning...my shins/calves were in a lot of pain! Anyway. After a much needed rest, I'm back! If you need an early morning gym buddy let me know! You pick the time, and I'll be there!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a runner but so proud of people that are. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteYOU CAN DO IT!! I promise you girls can run more and further than you think!
ReplyDeleteIf you were able to get up before work to go to the gym in the Winter, I'm confident you'll have no issue when it's not -2 degrees and snowing :)
ReplyDeleteYou guys are going to rock that half marathon!!
YOU GO GIRL! These are great goals!!!
ReplyDeleteGirl after your half you are already going to be like 1/4 of the way to 50 miles this month! You totally got this this! So excited for you gals and your first half!
ReplyDeleteI think I might be doing a half marathon later this month. Crazy, right?? I DON'T run!! Ahhh!
ReplyDeleteGreat goals. I think getting your workout done in the morning is such a great idea (now if I can actually do that!)
Awesome goals girlfriend! And I love the collage - totally going to copy that! :) We are going to kick May's ass!!!

ReplyDeleteI love all the workout pics! You have great goals, and I know you can get those 50 miles in!
ReplyDeleteGreat goals! I've never tracked the number of miles I have run in a month. That should be fun to log especially as you complete training for the half and run it this month! Good luck with your goal of finishing the half marathon! It is a lot of fun when you run them with family and friends! I ran my first with my brothers! You guys will have a blast...and I'm sure you'll do great!!!
