Six loose goals for 2015.

Most years, I usually make pretty specific goals, like run X amount of miles, or read X number of books, etc., but, this year? I just want to be the better version of myself. I want to get things DONE this year! I want all the good things for myself, my friends, and my husband. So instead of making super specific goals, I just decided to make a small (loose) list of a few things I want to work on.

Paying off our debt is a huge one (and maybe wouldn't consider this a loose one...whoops!). As of Monday, there is a check in the mail to pay off our FIRST loan in full, and I can't tell you how AMAZING it feels! I mean, we're already on our way to pay off loan #2. It's so, SO exciting.

Capturing beauty. Essentially, my camera and I are going to get some quality time together, so I want to spend it doing some pretty amazing things. I want to capture more emotion, more love, not "poses" or something to replicate from Pinterest. I want to get to know my couples more, what makes them smile, what makes them tear up, what makes them laugh insanely loud. I can't wait to see the couples we meet in the next year, and also see more of the couples we already have in the books.

Inspire others. I want to write more from my heart, and less for what seems "blog appropriate". The harsh reality is that most of the time the apartment is a mess, some nights I break down and cry for no reason, and there's always laundry to be done...and sometimes, that's okay! If I can handle sticky situations in life with grace and acceptance, I hope that inspires others to be optimistic.

Love harder. I think that sometimes giving up the little amount of me time that I might get this year, is crucial. My husband should be my priority, and dating him is something I don't want to miss out on. I want to show him, and everyone else that's important to me, just HOW important they are to me! I want to send more letters, make more phone calls, and just love my people harder.

Read more (and write more). In wanting to do this, I've started a whole-year Bible plan that I'm excited to continue diving into. Other than my Bible, I'd like to read more in general. I love fiction romance, mystery, thrillers, etc...so I want to make more time for those type of books, oh, and more bubble baths. When I say "write more" I don't mean here on the blog...I have the prettiest yellow leather journal, the same one I wrote my wedding vows in, and I have been neglecting it lately. I want to write more personal stuff in there, my prayers, my worries, etc. That will be so amazing to look back on when I'm about 80 years old.

Trust God. This is my biggest one. I'm excited to dive deeper into my faith, pray more, and even take a few chances in the coming year. I don't always know where life is going to take me, or why things happen the way they do...but I've got a God who works behind the scenes and I can't wait to see what this year has in store for us.

What's your #1 goal for this year??

  5. Love these!!!! Capture Beauty is on my list too.....but it mainly applies to "capture OUR beauty". I feel like I'm always capturing the beauty of others...for others....and when it comes to me, I just use a little ole iphone camera. I need to work more on capturing my OWN moments. :)

  7. I seriously love everything about this. Especially the "Love Harder" goal. Our relationships with the ones we love are some of the most important parts of life, but its so easy to be busy doing other things. I think loving others more could only be a positive thing. aaanyways -
Thanks for sharing your goals! It looks like 2015 is gonna be pretty amazing for you.

  16. Yesss I love these. Trust God is what I need to tattoo on my forehead this year, since we're going to have to so many changes. That and learn how to keep a baby alive :)

Reading and writing more are always goals of mine, too. Two of my favorite things!

  18. Your photography goal is spot on my friend. I need to stick in my brain that "comparison is the thief of joy". Pinterest makes that such a hard concept to grasp in terms of what people want and expect from me. It really pushed me to the edge of not knowing if I was doing the right thing with my photography. I started the Jesus Calling book all over again this year and I am excited to dive into it. You are going to do amazing things this year! I am so excited I get to follow along and cheer you on along the way.

  19. These are some great goals for 2015! And congrats on paying off debt! We paid off a small loan in December and it felt so amazing. I'm trying to follow the Dave Ramsey debt snowball plan and so far it feels pretty good. Hoping my car isn't far behind on the list of things getting paid off!
